Hi folks.. Another quick question, as I've seen conflicting info.. Does it just run in 44.1k?..I've seen people say yes and no, and I was playing around last night, may have changed the sample rate and the tuning was out either with Biab or the midi piano I was running in kontakt with it..
Thanks again.. (I can't get over how cool biab is tbh..it rocks..can't believe I overlooked it for years..)

I believe the answer is yes. I set all my equipment to 44.1 KHz.

The Band-in-a-Box program runs at 44.1K Hz because that is the sampling rate that the RealTracks are recorded at. Having your computer or another DAW set to a different sampling rate can cause issues or make the audio sound out of tune.
If you are seeing a message about mismatched sample rates on Windows, please follow these steps: Right click on the Windows Start menu and choose Run, then enter "control mmsys.cpl sounds" and press OK. This will open up the Windows Sound control panel.
Under the Playback tab, choose your default audio device (with the Green checkmark), then click on Properties. Go to the Advanced tab and choose 16-bit 44100 Hz (CD Quality) and click OK. If there is only the option of 24-bit 44100 Hz (Studio Quality), choose that instead. While we're here, uncheck the option to "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device".
Next, do the same on the Recording tab with the device that has the Green checkbox. Click Properties, go to the Advanced tab, and choose 16-bit 44100 Hz (CD Quality) and click OK. If there is only the option of 24-bit 44100 Hz (Studio Quality), choose that instead. While we're here, uncheck the option to "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device".
Best, Chantelle

If you've been around Windows since the beginning, another way to get there that may be familiar is to use the Speaker/Volume icon on the right side of the Taskbar.
Right-click on the Speaker icon Left-click on Open Sound Settings Left click on Sound Control Panel in the upper right
Note: this applies to Windows 10. I don't know if Windows 11 works the same way.

Deciding to stick to it is one thing; having your computer stay there is another. This bears checking every so often. Windows updates seem to be able to flip the sound settings.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
