Hi, I am hoping to use BIAB to create demos that I can play to publishers and artists whom I would wish to 'sell' my songs to.

Anybody use BIAB for this purpose?

Be interested to hear from you!

Hi Frage,

I have been doing BIAB for backing tracks for demo's and gig's for many years with great success for a group in London

You can PM me on here if you want to

Frage, sure, for about fifteen years now. It's fun to listen to the older CDs and hear the difference as I improved my MIDI modules a few times, started using Real Drums, and then Real Tracks. What a difference from then to now.

One of my style disk customers has been sending songwriting demos to Nashville for a number of years and has had many of them purchased by publishing companies.

Good luck!

I asked the exact same question a couple of months ago if you want to search back and find more responses.

Simple answer: Yes.

I think I sent my first BIAB demos to Nashville around 1992. Going through some old tapes, I found one of the first:

http://www.itrstudio.com/perfect_love.mp3

I think there was one real guitar on it, main vocal, and real backup singers. Everything else was BIAB. All of the BIAB instruments were MIDI, through the original Roland Sound Canvas.

Oh yeah, least anyone get the wrong idea, I wrote the song, not my wife.

Hi Frage,BIAB is brilliant for recording quality demos.Ive been lucky in the past as Ive played my very basic demos to a friend of mine who owns Rockfield studios here in Wales. If he liked the song he would then get in pro musicians to record it.Even though it was great for him to do that I still would have preferred to have presented a much better demo and BIAB is perfect for that so good luck and start recording your stuff.Cheers Frankie

Hi tributeman - thanks for that...

Getting good demos done as been the bane of my song-writing life. I am not a good enough musician myself and as soon as I play a demo to anyone they have tended to bypass the song altogether and focus on the musicianship or some other aspect of the demo when I want them to hear THE SONG!

Hoping BIAB will get me past that!

Frage

Hi Harvey - I just listened to your song. I like the song AND the demo. Very impressed by the demo quality and there are some great lines in that. Thanks!

Well, keep in mind that it was done with a very old version of BIAB. But it got the job done.

Heck, I've been using BIAB on my released songs for a few years now. About eight albums' worth.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
