Hi all, I'm in a creative flow. Here's another new song. It's called: And It Takes Some Time. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=9192254I might use some advice on this one. Do you think it's too long? If so, which parts do you think could be ditched? Cheers Superbron

Hi Bron, I enjoyed listening to your song. I always like hearing what you come up with. You have a terrific sense of musicianship that always comes through in your work. You've got great chops. I loved the 2-bar intro. I find it refreshing to jump into the song without a 4-bar intro. This is a device that people like The Beatles and Elvis (just to name a couple) have used with great success (e.g. "Hey Jude" has no intro at all and it was The Beatles biggest selling record). To answer your questions, this song felt a little bit long to me (over 4 mins). I found myself wondering if the 3 repetitions of the "And it takes some time to get better" sections were needed. The other thing that I noticed was that were times when your vocals disappeared into the mix and were hard for me to hear. Please keep in mind that the above are just opinions and they didn't detract from my enjoying the song at all. I'm ready for the next one now Noel

I LIKE IT! Nice progression, nice sound, nice vocals. If the Beatles had written it, it would have been on an album. (ooh-ah-ooh(?) would have sounded nice in harmony)
Nice job.

Hi Mick and Noel,
Thanks for listening and your comments.
I've uploaded a new version. I've ditched one of the the "And it takes some time to get better" sections and added harmony to the Ooh-ah ooh section.
Thanks for your suggestions.
Cheers
Superbron

Hi Superbron, I enjoyed listening too your song and thought the overall arrangement very good with enough variation to hold my interest. I liked the guitar part. Very well done.
I thought the length of the song was okay. I would have liked the vocal to stand out just a little more but this is a very small point.
Jim

Hi Jim,
Thanks for listening. I redid the vocals, maybe they stand out some more now :-)

or how about "Hangin' on the telephone. Debbie's in there way before the band. A negative intro, if you like!
SuperBron, as to your revised recording, I will get round to listening to it (at work at the moment!)

Great song Superbron! I really like this version. The harmonies on the Ooh-ah-oohs were a nice touch. The arrangement is super, nice guitar lead and acoustic ending!
To nitpick I still think the vocals could come up more. Also I’m not sure you need all those vocal effects. You may want to try just a tad of reverb on your voice. However even if you don’t change a thing I still think it’s a great song, very good work here.
I just posted a selfie and all of the responses were get well soon!

this version sounds just great (I don't recall there being much wrong with the vox in the earlier version!).
This one really plays to your strengths, SuperBron,
Marc

New supertune from Superbron!! As far as my ears go, this is ready for prime time as is. Very good and thanks for sharing. Jim
I'd be completely happy if I had just one more guitar.

.
Nice trick making it simpler at the end, rather than more complicated. Quite unexpected, and effective.
I wish the vocal were a bit plainer. When the singing first starts it seems drowned in effects and processing. A tip I learned years ago: "If you can hear an effect, its too much."
I am listening for a lyrical or musical hook and not catching it.
The words "together" and "forever" is one of the most overused rhymes in the history of songwriting.

Nice song, Superbron. To my ears the vox could stand out a little more, whether it is file compression or effects that steal its crispness, I don't know. Maybe adding a little sparkle would do the trick. Just my two cents. Enjoyed it. Thanks!

Thanks for listening Jepster and flatfoot,
I think I will record another session of new vocals for this song when I have the time. Thanks for the feedback.
Cheers
