I’m trying to resolve my problem of Band-in-a-Box 2023 upgrade not finding all the RealTracks on an external drive. Even when using the Rebuild function several times and setting the location preferences manually, the “n/a” keeps popping up.
Even though 3373 RealTracks are there according to the Rebuild pop-up window, the Help function claims that only 14% of available RealTracks are found.
I didn’t have this problem with my versions from 2021 and 2019, so what am I missing?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Unless you install new styles or change your folder locations, you only need to rebuild one time from the StylePicker window (Fast rebuild) - this rebuilds everything - Styles, Drums, RealTracks, etc. Additional rebuilds will not change anything.
If you get a 'RealTracks not found' message, look at the RT# in the message. Most likely if you determine why one RT is missing, it will be the same reason for all of them. If you want to check a flash message that happened previously, you can see it in the flash message log file (type 'log' and press Enter as a shortcut).
For example, say you play _TANGO.STY and the message says that RT #2642 is not found, which is "Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm Tango Ev 100". Open the RealTracks Picker (not StylePicker), and select the checkbox at the bottom "Show N/A..." Locate RT#2642 and you can determine what is causing it not to be found.
- If it says "N/A [RT Folder]" that means that it can't find the "Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm Tango Ev 100" folder in your RealTracks folder. This is most likely a problem with a custom RealTracks folder location pointing to the wrong folder.
- If it says "N/A [ST2...]" that means that it can't find the .ST2 file for RT2642 in the /Applications/Band-in-a-Box/Soloists folder. This means you must be running Band-in-a-Box from a different Band-in-a-Box folder than you installed that RT to.
- If it just says "N/A" then neither .ST2 or RT folder can be found, which means the RT isn't installed at all.
You might find that all the RealTracks have the same problem, or if it's just some, sort by Set# in the RT Picker to see if there's a range of RT Sets that is affected
Let us know what you find and we could suggest the best solution. Also, I'm assuming this is a 2023 UltraPAK download install but you are using an external BiaB hard drive from a previous version?

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
