Even in a laid-back track like yours more gain adds feeling. I've so far only posted 4 or my instrumentals but in all of them everything stands out, even in my more 'laid-back' compositions like the recently posted "Loving You". Like you, I also like longer tracks, vocal or instrumental, but that's definitely preference. My priorities are composition, arrangement and getting the mixes right.

Thanks for the feedback WaoBand.
The funny thing I find about music is that although there is a lot of personal taste involved, for the vast, vast majority of us there are "boundaries" and "rules". And if we cross those boundaries few, if any of the us (including the general public) will like it. I may not understand all the rules but there are reasons why Mozart and others from long ago are still popular today. It's neat that us humans have that common "glue".

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Cool, Steve. Fun groove and you develpped well. I don't hear the piano left hand and your playing conflicting as Ray mentioned, but his ears are a hundred times better than mine. I really like what you added with Krog, too. Cool solos, and, man, your bass sounds really really good. Excellent timing and tone. Much enjoyed.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Many thanks for the listen and feedback Marty.
And thanks to folks here, I'm slowly making progress on my bass tone . . . so much to learn, so little time.

BT,
Good effort, a lot of detail that came together well painting a single picture. Nice bass playing. Clear mix.
Thank you for sharing.
Misha.

P.S. I assume you explored Shots, Rests, Holds and Pushes in BIAB?

Hi Misha,
Thanks for the listen and feedback.
I did explore Rests in BiaB thanks to the help from Deb and Dan. And I think my rests in this song worked out pretty well.
I haven't looked at Shots, Holds or Pushes yet because the need hasn't yet risen. But if you use any of these devices in future songs you share, do point them out when you post so folks like me can better learn what they are and how to use them.

Hey Greg, thanks so much for the listen.
HaHa, "boys in the box"; I never heard that phrase, very clever.
Truth be told, it's often difficult for me to keep up and blend with those boys, but it's sure fun trying smile

Just one question.
Has anyone ever told you you're a HOOT? . . . . I'm guessing yes smile

Thanks for the listen. Feedback from seasoned muscians like yourself means a lot.

PS> Every time I see your name I remember your Circle of 5ths song, I wish I was half as creative.

Hi Bass Thumping man smile
Here's some feedback for you.

Technical feedback:
  • Nice mix, a bit busy at times but still good.

Artistic feedback:
  • Expected you to slap the bass, but even without slapping the bass part is what I like most.
  • I love the saxophone, but not the trumpet. It sounds a little dull.
  • Needs a singer smile

If I could slap I would but that's not yet part of my skills matrix . . . hopefully someday.
Yep, now that you mention it the trumpet is a bit dull. If I ever do a remix I'll play an octave higher or choose something brighter in tone.
Singing is in the same category as slapping for me; care to write some lyrics and sing on this ?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
