For some reason, it doesn't matter what song I create or load, there are no drum fills, I have always had drum fills, but recently (I have not changed anything), the drum fills have stopped, and the drum rhythm still continues, I have always used realtracks which includes realdrums, but as I mentioned, the fills have suddenly ceased for some unknown reason.

Now, if I load a song that has frozen tracks, the fills play great, but if a song has no frozen tracks, or I create a new song, and I re-generate the tracks, the fills are gone, but the drums still play, no matter if I change the fills from blue to green, no fills, there not even an ending fill.

I would firstly try Options > Return to Factory Settings / Most and see if that makes a difference.

Secondly, select a bar and press function key <F5> and check the box 'Allow Drum Fill' and see if that changes anything.

Doesn't F5->Allow Drum Fill only affect one bar of the current song? I'm actually getting no drum fills globally, it doesn't matter if the song is freshly created and I press F4, or if I load in a song and press F4 to re-generate tracks, the fills no longer work, and resetting to factory settings did nothing either, I've tried just about everything, apart from completely uninstalling BIAB (using Revo Uninstaller) and performing a complete clean re-install.

You could contact the PG Music Support line. They might be able to diagnose. There is live chat and email support available.

I searched for issues with Drum Fills but couldn't find anything that exactly related to your issue.

Consider freezing one of the problem songs and attaching it to an email to PG Music Support. You might reference your post here in the email also.

(PS: presumably you have tried this with many different RealDrums styles? Some might have limited fills, most only have fills for A: and B: part markers)

I just completed a complete re-install, and that didn't fix it either. To pin point it, it seems that the drum fills are not being triggered when reaching the markers, but pre-saved songs that have frozen tracks do play the fills.

I have always had fills, no matter if they're A, B, C or D variations (C and D depend on if the style allows it).

I’m not at a computer but when you choose RealDrums, there are options for Simpler and I think it includes a checkbox for No Drum Fills.

If you chose this, it would affect just that song, but all places in that song where a drum fill might have been played.

If you then create a new song using the same instruments, that drum setting might carry over (not sure without doing a test).

It's interesting that the RTFS didn't make any difference, and a full reinstall hasn't made any difference either.

With the program shut down, I wonder about deleting the two files:
- Mysetup.dk (in \bb\preferences\)
- intrface.bbw (in \bb\preferences\ )

and then starting the program again. An uninstall may not have removed these two files.

That would be my next suggestion.

I agree. Since that should have worked, I was exploring a solution that would apply song by song.

To the O/P, please also tell us exactly what version and build of BiaB that you are using. That could make a big difference to where those aforementioned files are stored.

I did a full system file search that had anything with the letters BB in them and also did a registry search for the same letters, and I found that a windows uninstall did not remove any files left behind, so I went ahead and used Revo Uninstaller which first runs the default uninstaller used by the program, which in this case the BIAB uninstaller, then it scans the entire system and registry for any leftover files that the uninstaller didn't remove, probably because of files created by BIAB during the course of using it, then Revo would show a list of registry entries that I can delete in bulk, then it shows a list of actual files related to the software, on the system (if any) that also can be deleted in bulk. I did all this, then rebooted the PC, and re-installed a complete clean installation of BIAB, and after re-installing some of the paks I had,the fills now work as they should.

So basically it seems that the default windows uninstaller or any apps uninstaller is not to be trusted and to use a 3rd party uninstaller that completely removes everything that's related to the program being uninstalled.

Well, it seems it's all fixed now, thanks for everyone's help.

I'm glad to hear it's working now.

There's cause, and then there's coincidence. I hope you will update this thread if it happens again.

If it remains working well, then it's a helpful practice to go back to your first post and click on Mark as Resolved. This helps if others search for the same issue.

I'm pleased that you got it working.
Generally, a new version / reinstall can be just installed over an existing version. I understand that BiaB writes very little to the windows registry, perhaps some information on Fonts, but not much more.
At any rate, you resolved your issue so that is the desired outcome.

Also, please mark your original post as resolved as has been suggested. This can assist others in the future

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
