I'm currently using BAND IN A BOX2023, but I'm very interested in improving the functionality of 2024.
When will the release date be?

Generally it is released in about the first week of December. Nobody knows for certain at this stage, except for relying on historical data.

I can't help but look forward to the improvements in 2024, including support for VST3, improved compatibility between real audio and MIDI, and the introduction of AI technology.

Have you been given some "insider tips" that none of us know about ? confused

Usually, the beta testers find ways of leaking the goodies. I've not heard anything so am not as confident as some that we'll see BIAB 2024 for Windows before the new year. BIAB for the Mac generally drops sometime between March and September following the Windows release.

Really? I haven’t noticed that. “Usually”? Do you have examples you can cite?

I don't care when it comes out. Lets not rush them. Let them get as many bugs out as possible. Peter indicated some suggestions are being applied so if it is a major change then PGM take your time to debug.

In the years I have been using BiaB, I have never identified any information of a future release being published anywhere, except for statements that PG Music themselves might make.

Musocity, what were you trying to accomplish by quoting me out of context and making it appear as if I said beta testers leak news? And do you consider Peter Gannon a beta tester?

It's a joke ! Peter does beta test, he is not an end user.

I'm pleased that you clarified the 'funny' side of your perspective even though it is not amusing at all. I genuinely doubt that anyone other than PG Music staff have ever publicized anything in advance of official release statements.

That being said, I really think we should all watch this space. Something must surely be getting close by now ?

Well, 2024 is now available.

I still do not appreciate being quoted in such a manner as to make it look like I said the opposite of what I actually said.

It is your quote ! you wanted someone to cite times when things were leaked, they could be down the bar having one too many to drink or in a pm.
I can read between lines of beta testers as what is being said, I don't need no examples.

Musocity, I think the following line is the line of concern. It was written by Mike, but in your quoted texts had apparently been attributed to Matt. I imagine that the Beta testers are sworn to secrecy, so the apparent attribution may well be awkward.

To me the Beta testers seem pretty leak-proof.

Gordon is correct.

I’ve been a beta tester for many companies for many decades. Yes, beta testers are always sworn to secrecy. I took Mike’s slam on their integrity seriously and asked for examples. I’ve heard none cited in response. Then I was quoted out of context and in a faulty way by Musocity to make it appear I was the one who made the slam. I could not let that pass unchallenged, either.

Don't worry Matt.

I think he was just referring to PG's discussions, after dark, when he is available to consider certain projects, like Vst3 for example. No one has questioned your integrity.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
