Hi, Scott. Moody piece - the instruments work well, as does your vocal. Lots of guitar! The lyric Drifting out from ancient tomes has me puzzled (how you do drift out of a book? Or are the books found in the catacombs?), but I tend to overthink things. I enjoyed the listen!

Hi Scott,
As David said, very moody! And I'll add mysterious. Strong vocal. I like the fuller sound starting at 2:34.
Also, I'm a fan of having the backing tracks full and a bit more forward in the mix than many folks are. Those acoustic guitars on R & L hold their own and keep the driver intense.
Dark & powerful.
Very nice work!!!

Scott, love the way you bust those high notes, and the vocals throughout. The backing track sounds really cool, too, as does the slithery minor progression. Those lyrics over the image of the burning city ARE dark, but that's part of life, and something to sing about too. Great job!

Scott, maybe you’ll get a flashlight for Christmas to help lighten the darkness. Seriously, I have always liked sad songs. It’s probably a good idea to explore all the emotions in our writing. You did a good job on the vocals and the lyrics. Your tracks all work well and the production sounds really good. I did enjoy my listen, Tom

Oh, Scott, you are the patron saint of what's so good about the darkside. Even a one-eyed horse would follow your lead. I love this line "I am living on the upside of down"

I love dark This is a pretty cool song, I really enjoyed listening to it. The left acoustic guitar makes the song a bit too busy and takes my attention away from the best part (your vocals). I think I would try something less busy, probably a clean electric guitar that holds chords. That's the best thing about BIAB, you can just try out ideas. But as it is now, it's already very good, so don't worry too much about it.

Hi Scott, This is quite an amazing song. Your powerfully evocative imagery resonates with world happenings rights now. The production is outstanding and your singing sits perfectly from both a mixing perspective and a performance perspective. Honestly, this is one of the best comments on the failings of Capitalism that I've heard in recent years. Not enough dark rock songs here, I'm really glad you fill that void. Dark story, no hope: "Pray to your patron saints/Of chaos, greed, and destruction" Intriguing chord progression and the acoustic picking brings it nicely forward. Good classic sounding chorus. Very good use of guitars, really powerful ones starting before purgatory. You have the best rock voice on this forum, I enjoy it thoroughly, very nice rise from low to high.

There's no missing the pain and hopelessness in these lyrics, that said, a very good write, great vocals and I love that acoustic. With much of the world on fire, this is quite current.
https://soundcloud.com/user-646279677BiaB 2024 Windows For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Hi Scott,
A very good song in all perspective: the vocals, the band sand the song as a whole! You really sing with full conviction, still the song sounds familliair as being a genuine Ezekiel! The lyrics are clever written, the language a bit a challenge for me to understand it all (but I have Google!) And I think it's the time of year that we see/hear all these sunny lyrics. I thought mine were dark, but Jannice and Bud were close. Then came Brain with his f-word song and now you, even with a burning city on your cover! And for the band; I liked the chord progression and how the acoustic guitars do their work. Lovely, or ace (as Ray calls it)!
I really enjoyed it al, Hans

Ezekiel's Storm,
The lyrics are a bit difficult for me to understand, but I can really feel the dark side atmosphere. Your vocals add the unique taste to it more. It's very moody and mysterious. It makes us get nervous when that the chord progression doesn't quite move towards the tonic chord, but it's very effective. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Scott...I really like the track...this could be popular in the great tribulation to come...it's that kinda dark ... an apocalyptic anthem for sure...your vocals are Bowie-esk and with the lyric quite haunting...your songs are always interesting and very well done!

This is powerful!
The intensity of your vocal, the grunge guitars and the minor chord sections all contribute to the ominous feeling of the lyric.
Great dynamics and mix too!
We especially liked: “I am living on the upside of down No signs and wonders left to be found” and also “Pray to your patron saints Of chaos, greed, and destruction”
Well done and have a great holiday season!

Scott...I really like the track...this could be popular in the great tribulation to come...it's that kinda dark ... an apocalyptic anthem for sure...your vocals are Bowie-esk and with the lyric quite haunting...your songs are always interesting and very well done! Much appreciated, Dan!

Really interesting music!!!....not one of your classic progressions, but one that really fits and/or creates the mood of the song!! Mix/production is very good.....I hear those NI guitars.....I have those too.....pretty cool! Nicely done!!! Take care. Greg Thanks, Greg. I really like those NI guitars.

I almost missed this one. I'm glad I didn't miss it. Super vocal and backing band. The lyrics could have been written by Jim Morrison and I mean that as a big compliment. Super mix Loved it

J&B Merry Christmas, J&B. You picked out my favorite lines (I think I can humbly have favorite lines).

Scott, Amazing write! Love lyrics and vocal performance. "Riding a one-eyed horse back into town I am living on the upside of down" That is a gem. Probably the "darkest" I've heard from you, but that doesn't scare me, I like dark tunes Panning guitars was very effective. Good mix. Enjoyed this a lot and thank you for sharing. Misha.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
