Hi Ron,

Yeah, those alligators can be feisty little critters! So, ya gotta look out for them.

Thank you very much for the kind words! I'm gonna leave it be for a while. I'd like to redo it using BIAB RTs, but there just isn't anything like this at this point. Maybe in the future!

Take care,

Alan

Also really like your lyric.

Vocal doesn't sound too bad to me, but if you think you can do it better, go for it!

Thanks a bunch, Dave. Still debating the vocal. But as I get older (approaching 80), the voice isn't what it used to be and hasn't been since a pretty bad accident damaged my vocal cords. We'll see.

Many thanks!

Alan

Hi David,

First, Merry Christmas to you and Gayle, all the other Snydies running around!

As far as the volume, I'm mostly redoing some oldies that desperately needed some make-up and spit shine. I typically wait either days or until the previous one falls off the first page before posting another one. I did write four new ones over the past couple of months. Two of them are the old Frankie-Avalon - Annette cheeseburgers (I still like that era of music, though), one is contemporary ALT, and one is all Asian. Genre pigeon holes tend to be obstacles for me. Just whatever the mood happens to be.

Thanks a bunch.

Alan

If you have more than 20 chapters to go, I expect more songs from the book.
Well done!

Hi B.D.

Glad you liked it! As far as who goes into the swamp in the middle of the night:

A family lives in the swamps of Louisiana, basically poor Cajuns The 14-year-old son goes to visit a friend on the other side of the swamp but doesn't return home for the evening meal. His older brother goes out to look for him after dark. The swamp is a spooky place! Lots of eerie things happen! Now you know the premise of the book.

Thanks again!

Alan

Hi Alan,

What a funky song you made!
And all those sounds of the swamp creatures... Lovely!
I really got that swampy feeling!
I liked everything in the song. I can imagine you consider this to be your best song. It sure is a attractive song!
And I liked the slap bass very much.
Good lyrics and swinging, Al!

Hi Hans,

Glad you enjoyed it - swamp sounds, too! That slap bass is from a different program, but I think it works real nice here. I appreciate all those nice words for the song - thanks a lot!

Best to you,

Alan

We love the later swampy blues from Tony Joe and this swampy funk would fit right in with it.

"Moonlight weaving shadows
As the critters play and romp
Bayous all flow backwards
When it’s midnight in the swamp
When evil spirits moan their chant
Their sonnets chill and daunt
No mortal man should be there
When it’s midnight in the swamp"

Great lines of many.
The imagery would make a heckuva video.
The cool arrangement, vocals, band and mix all make great production.

Enjoyed it!

PS Best to you re the novel.

What do you think you're doing out in the swamp at this time of night? Get back to bed!

I think you did a great job, Al. Very rhythmical and great lyrics.

Hey Guys...

Okay - guy & girl! Anyway, many thanks for all that kindness! And yeah, if I had an idea how to make and upload a video for it, I would. I've downloaded a couple of cheap or free programs, and after the the directions, I still have no clue. I could probably build a nuclear submarine before I figured all that out. It appears they all assume the user has at least a basic knowledge of the task - nope!

Again, thank yas a bunch for all those really kind words!

Alan

Hey Vic,

I got to find my out of this quagmire before I can get home and into bed! Those pesky alligators are a real PIA! And those snakes aren't all that appealing. Oh well, thanks for the listen and comments!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
