Noel, you have written a beautiful, wonderful and moving lyric and melody here. Very nice work on the vocal. The production is top shelf and makes for a superb listen, Tom

Really nice song! At the end I couldn't help but think that you had brought Natalie to life, "the most wonderful gift of all". Merry Christmas!

This is really beautiful Noel.

I heard the first version of it and really loved that one too. Truly magnificent.

By the way, I love the way you sing, and so I have to say I did not find one single thing wrong with the first version that I can remember, though this is a very interesting and viable "alternate" version. Just remember though, there is only one Noel!!

smile

Happy Holidays!!

Lovely song, my friend.

Hi, Noel ! 😁✌️

I am late for this wonderful
tune of yours, but I have to say
that it must be the best tune
I´ve heard from you taking it
was not you that sung this time !
This wonderful tune and performance
could have benefited from
your beautiful voice harmonizing
a second voice at certain places
but it is nonetheless a masterpiece !

A most Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year to you and your
nearest ! 😍😍

Cheers

This is a perfect thank you song for Mama’s in this world! Janice still remembers the smile on her Mama’s face when she first heard you sing it in 2019, especially the line, “you gave me a heart that beats with joy and peace” and then when she heard the the tag line she smiled even bigger.

Natalie does an amazing vocal and the way she sings, “Mama” is wonderful. The emotion in her voice seems “real.”

The guitar accompaniment highlights the beauty of the lyric and melody.

The song was a winner in 2019 and this version is a winner also. We thank you!

Merry Christmas Noel!

I remember this song too.

Absolutely beautiful. Natalie sings it with such emotion, which is surprising for a synth.

Hi Noel
An excellent song with a great melody
Taking a synth voice for this song was really brave
But to be honest it worked out well ;-)
Good work Noel
Many greetings
Andi ;-)

The acoustic guitar sounds like it was played for the session.
Getting any RT to be The Only instrument without some small "glitches" that indicate it was "generated" is difficult.
I heard none.

Hi floyd.

It's always good to see you. Thanks for your comments, too smile

This particular RT guitar (#1595) came together without too much fuss. I was lucky! I imported the vocal line into BIAB and then using just the guitar, I regenerated sections of the track until I got a pattern that was a good fit with the voice. Being able to regenerate sections of track as needed is a great advantage in BIAB. I used to do this in RB but these days, I tend to stay in BIAB. Another advantage of using a vocaloid is that it's possible to change performance nuances and words so that they fit better with the backing. I did that a number of times with this song. Having such flexibility is a great musical tool.

Thanks again for the visit and Happy New Year!

Hey Deej.

Good to see you smile I'm starting to get the hang of Synthesizer V. It's such a great synth and the vocals can be quite amazing. It takes time, but I'm learning a lot about linguistics as I travel this journey. Thanks for your uplifting comments. I really appreciate them!

Doesn't sound normal Natalie, bit masculine, but could be caused by Nectar also, not a bad thing, just different and original.

Hi Janne.

I hope that things are not too cold up there in Finland! Thanks for dropping in and having a listen. And thanks for your really thoughtful comments. I appreciate them. You've got great ears! I did add a smidgen of 'male' to Natalie's vocal. It added a little bit of warmth to the to the breath tone that I created.

Wishing you a fantastic 2024 and lots of music making!

Nice one Noel. I think the secret to this beautiful song is its simplicity - its heartfelt lyric and unobtrusive backing.
And 'Natalie' is amazing.
Cheers,
Mike

Hey David.

It's always fantastic to see you! Thanks for such inspiring comments, too. I really appreciate them. I originally wrote this song with a female singer in mind, so it was great that I could use Synth V's Natalie to hear how it sounds.

I hope that you, Gayle and your family have a brilliant 2024!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
