I wrote this song in 2019. Just recently I tweaked some of the lyrics and used Synth V's Natalie for the vocals. My aim was to make this a simple, personal arrangement of a song that is a tribute to mothers. ♫ The Best Gift Of All (Thank You, Mama)(lyrics on Soundcloud)Please feel free to comment on any aspect of the song and its presentation. I remember this song from 2019 - it was stunning then and is stunning now. So thoughtful and beautiful.
You have managed to build a very emotive performance with Natalie. I also think the vocal processing is exquisite.

I didn't make it to the end because I lost my mom 3 weeks ago and it hurts to hear a song like yours, but what I did hear was very beautiful.

This is just so beautiful! Such a tender story and so well presented. You are great musical talent and this song only further substantiates that assertion.
Your skill with Synth V is amazing. Maybe someday I'll venture there. But in the meantime, I'll take joy in the offerings by you and a few others on the forum who use Synth V so excellently.

Nice write, suitably universal. Appropriately simple backing. The phrasing sounds very much like you. Natalie gives a nice performance. I would have used a touch more reverb, but that's a personal preference, not a complaint. Works for me!

A beautiful song.
Two VERY impressive things about this -
The vocal sounds real.
Might be the first time I've heard one of the synth voices where I do NOT think I would know it was a synth.
Impressive.
The acoustic guitar sounds like it was played for the session.
Getting any RT to be The Only instrument without some small "glitches" that indicate it was "generated" is difficult.
I heard none.

Lovely in its simplicity. The AI vocal is about as realistic as you can get. The first few notes I thought it sounded synth, but thereafter it sounds as real and live as can be. Beautiful work in that regard and an outstandingly impressive tune!!

I didn't play around too much with reverb. I was aiming for a "sitting in a small room" kind of reverb. This is a very touching song, so much warmth and love in every word. And lines like "unraveling the mysteries of eternity" take me beyond galaxies. The acoustic guitar is enjoyable and highlights the beauty of the chord progression. Natalie's voice fits perfectly with the message and the melody. Did you change Natalie's gender setting? Doesn't sound normal Natalie, bit masculine, but could be caused by Nectar also, not a bad thing, just different and original.

This is really beautiful Noel. I heard the first version of it and really loved that one too. Truly magnificent. By the way, I love the way you sing, and so I have to say I did not find one single thing wrong with the first version that I can remember, though this is a very interesting and viable "alternate" version. This is a perfect thank you song for Mama’s in this world! Janice still remembers the smile on her Mama’s face when she first heard you sing it in 2019, especially the line, “you gave me a heart that beats with joy and peace” and then when she heard the the tag line she smiled even bigger.
Natalie does an amazing vocal and the way she sings, “Mama” is wonderful. The emotion in her voice seems “real.”
The guitar accompaniment highlights the beauty of the lyric and melody.
The song was a winner in 2019 and this version is a winner also. We thank you!

fj Hi floyd. It's always good to see you. Thanks for your comments, too This particular RT guitar (#1595) came together without too much fuss. I was lucky! I imported the vocal line into BIAB and then using just the guitar, I regenerated sections of the track until I got a pattern that was a good fit with the voice. Being able to regenerate sections of track as needed is a great advantage in BIAB. I used to do this in RB but these days, I tend to stay in BIAB. Another advantage of using a vocaloid is that it's possible to change performance nuances and words so that they fit better with the backing. I did that a number of times with this song. Nice one Noel. I think the secret to this beautiful song is its simplicity - its heartfelt lyric and unobtrusive backing.

Noel...this is such a beautiful song...I love the melody and simplicity of the arrangement...a universal theme indeed...momma's love and wisdom...so well done in every way...your stellar use of Natalie's voice is very compelling and certainly believable in every aspect...I really enjoyed listening!

This is a perfect thank you song for Mama’s in this world! Janice still remembers the smile on her Mama’s face when she first heard you sing it in 2019, especially the line, “you gave me a heart that beats with joy and peace” and then when she heard the the tag line she smiled even bigger.
Natalie does an amazing vocal and the way she sings, “Mama” is wonderful. The emotion in her voice seems “real.”
The guitar accompaniment highlights the beauty of the lyric and melody.
The song was a winner in 2019 and this version is a winner also. We thank you!

J&B Hi J&B, I really appreciate your visit and your comments. I spent quite a bit of time with Natalie getting her performance the very best I could achieve. He voice is different from mine but how she sings has an awful of lot me in there! Synth V's vocaloids are extraordinary. I remember this song too.
Absolutely beautiful. Natalie sings it with such emotion, which is surprising for a synth. Howdy, Scott. Thanks for zipping over to Soundcloud and having a listen. I appreciate it. With the Synthesizer V vocaloids, I'm discovering that the more experience I gain, the better the results. I'm gaining lots of insights on this journey I'm on. The voices are awesome. Just like realtracks need a bit of tweaking here and there to shine, vocaloids also benefit from adjusting and shaping. May 2024 bring a ton of great things your way! --Noel

Nice one Noel. I think the secret to this beautiful song is its simplicity - its heartfelt lyric and unobtrusive backing.
