Hi, Alan. Smooth jazz, cohesive song, love the FX processing. And no, your notes weren't too long. It's interesting to see what sort of things people consider during production - especially if it's something I've never though of. Hi David, Thanks for the listen and nice comments. This is my first attempt to use those particular plug-ins. I just played around with them until I got the sound I wanted. And I was very happy with how it all sounded. I'm glad the info I added was interesting to you. Since these effects were so different from anything I'd previously used, I thought I'd let the listener know what i did and why. i did have a preconceived idea of what I wanted, and it came out pretty close. Again, many thanks. Alan & Di

Alan, you are a master of the genre. Your experimentation with the plugins paid dividends. It all works seamlessly and is mixed to perfection. I used to drive home from late night gigs after playing honky-tonk country and blues at ear destroying volumes for hours and I would listen to smooth jazz to help wind down. In addition to all the guitarists you mentioned, two of my big ones were Hiram Bullock and my all time favorite Robben Ford. Great job on this one, Tom

In addition to all the guitarists you mentioned, two of my big ones were Hiram Bullock and my all time favorite Robben Ford. Great job on this one, Tom Hi Tom, Made that drive many times! We'd get done at one am, break our equipment down, and load it in the car. Then we'd go to a 24-hour restaurant for our dinner meal. Then we'd sit around the table and talk a bunch of that everyone else knew were lies! And then get home around 3:30. After a quick shower, it would be close to 4 o'clock. Anywhere from three to five nights a week, depending on exactly when. But those were some great times, though! the last time I played in a band was in 2004. It was a small lounge in a suburb of St. Louis. I never used plug-ins until recently - well, some reverb, compression, and - when needed - some distortion. Put those are ones just about everyone uses at one time or another. But the phase, flange, and cross-tracking were new to me. I had a good time playing around with them. I'd forgotten about Robben Ford until you mentioned him. Thanks a bunch for the kind words. Sure do appreciate them! Happy New Year! Alan & Di

Well done!
Sounds like a group of folks who've played together for years. We have a great set of monitors and your mix set up a find soundstage on them.
Love the vibe and the production!
Happy New Year,
J&B
PS BTW, we have a suite of plugins from Waves, izotope and Logic Pro. Part of our fun in mixing is finding the "right" plugin settings for each production.

Hey Alan,
I really enjoyed this instrumental and it was the perfect backdrop to reading about what you did with the plug-ins and why. This was very helpful and I really appreciate you taking the time to jot it down for others to learn.
Na zdrowie!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
