Rich Man's Blues On this last song of the year I am way out of my comfort zone. BiaB Style = Rock Blues - Gritty Medium-Slow Tempo = 100 BPM I deleted the strings and guitar tracks Bass- Ample Sound - P-Bass Drums - Steven Slates - SSD 5 Piano - Arturia B3 - preset - Gimme Some Lovin' I am playing the lead and rhythm guitars and trying to sing. As always all comments are welcomed. Rich People Blues v- Rich people get the blues Rich people get the blues The big difference is They have more to lose v- His wife left him for the paper boy His wife left him for the paper boy The paper was on time But my wife was late o boy c- She got the house She got the car So he sits here in this bar Drinking shots in his beer Trying to drown his tears v- She got the dog she also got the cat She got the dog she also got the cat He was lucky to keep his cloths and his hat. v- She got a lawyer that knew his craft She got a lawyer that knew his craft She got the elevator He got the shaft c- She got the house She got the car So he sits here in this bar He is happy he's not gonna wine He just gave her half a piece sign v- Rich people get the blues Rich people get the blues

Some clever lyrics that go well with the blues and great guitar work. Sounds like an amicable parting of ways "He just gave her half a piece sign" The only improvement I can see is to brighten up your vocals; they sound a bit muffled; maybe some reverb? You should do more singing Mario, it sounds like you're having fun.
https://soundcloud.com/user-646279677BiaB 2024 Windows For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Love those lyrics! Your guitar is sizzling. You continue wow me with your instrumental talent. As BT said, the vocal is a little muffled but that is an easy fix. Good song!

Hi Mario, Clever theme I’m finding some of the lines may be short of a syllable or two (eg did you think of ‘rich people still get the blues’ / so he sits here in this (adjective) bar…). Sounds like you’re struggling to stretch the lines out in places. Lawyer verse is terrific! Vox are fine but just seem to lack a bit of conviction in places. Gtr has a great tone and is remarkably well played throughout (we would expect nothing less Mario!) but I’m finding that some of those lead gtr lines seem a bit too much, particularly in lines 1 and 2 of the verses. Finally, small point but the ending sounds a bit at odds with the blues genre. Congratulations on putting this one together.

Mario. Unless you get out of the comfort zone you haven't lived.
Some good lines here although the melody is a little generic. I suppose blues tunes can swing you that way.
You've had some good suggestions so, onward and upward.

PS - I tried using pitch correction once and it told me to shut up!

Thanx so much for listening and commenting. I also liked that guitar part but don't ask me where it came from or to do it again.

My biggest obstacle, other than my voice, is the fact I have a terrible time with lyrics. I can do some comical songs but after moon, June, and spoon I am DOA when it comes to other genres.

Good to hear you wailing on the guitar. I like the band though the kick drum seems a bit drum machine sounding.

Always good to end on a Blue note. Mario. That ensure they'll be back for more, and we will. And a nod to the rich cats. The rest of us don't often think of them this way.
Outstanding lyrics, and a fun vocal to present them. Man, I love that line: "She got the elevator and he got the shaft." Good one, Mario. I'll be back for more next year.

Mario, Fun lyrics, cool guitar playing. Drums are a bit hidden, but overall great overall effort. Thank you for sharing. Misha. P.S. This is not as weird as your Santa tune last year

Hi, Mario. nbsp:nbsp:nbsp: The paper was on time nbsp:nbsp:nbsp:But my wife was late o boyHa! Love the guitars! I thought they were from BiaB until I checked the notes. The drum seems overprocessed and distant to my ears, but I'm no expert, Nice to hear your voice. I enjoyed the song - congratulations for getting another in under the wire!

HI Mario,
I always enjoy it when you do a vocal - should do it more! Maybe just a tad more higher EQ (not much) and a bit more reverb. Guitar work sounding great! A fun lyric and a nice listern!
Happy New Year!

Super cool tune, Mario! +1 for more future vocals and lead guitar, both were really, REALLY fine. Agree with prior comments on vocal and drum processing tweaks. Oh, and like the splash ending, too! Just a lot of fun all the way through...

Man, that was full of funny lines. You definitely should write more lyrics and sing them. Nice guitar work and a great way to finish off the year, Tom Thanx so much Tom. My lyrics, singing, and mixing of them are one of my weakest points so I am reluctant to showcase them. But maybe I will try harder next year. Nice blues guitar, and loved the lyrics, Mario! Mario, I haven't heard you sing since that math song you did a while back - and they're my favorites of yours. This is great. I had a smile on my face all the way through. Great idea and loved those lines you came up with! Great guitar work too. Man this one was fun!

Mario,
Hmmm, not sure why you feel out of your comfort zone . . . it’s a good blue tunes with a sweet solo and a compelling vocal. Really like that organ . . . or at least that what it sounds like thought I don’t see it listed. Would love to hear more of this type of stuff from you.

Brad Thanx so much Brad. Singing is out of my comfort zone as I am more of an instrumentalist guy. Also mixing a vocal is one of my weak points. However I plan on trying to sing more this year.

Mario,
The melody and lyrics are exactly blues. The guitar that accompanies the vocals is very cool. It's great that you can write songs even if it's not in your comfort zone. I'm sure you're familiar with all genres of music. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

It's a pretty cool blues with clever lyrics, even if I don't agree with the title, because you can't have the blues in an air-conditioned room and rich men have air conditioning. I like it a lot. Your vocals could have a little more sparkle, but that can easily be fixed with a little EQ love.

Shigeki Adachi Thanx Shigeki. Yes I am familiar with many genres as I was in a wedding bands for years. However I became a player of some but a master of none.

You did give me an idea for a new song, my AC just broke!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
