Thank you!
I wasn't able to see how that would hold the last half beat chord over to the next bar. I could see that it would hold the last beat, but not the last half beat. When I tried I always got the entire last beat as a held chord, even when using micro-chords. Maybe I'm missing something?

I couldn't get the micro-chord function to work that's why i asked. I'll take a look at the suggestions from @musocity when I have time. Thanks, glad it works because I should be able to now write out Bill Withers Lean on Me!
Thanks Catherine, I did try this but it didn't work for me - well, at least not how I envisaged it would work. I'll have another go. plenty to learn here.

Revisited this again today and previously I made a mistake by not selecting the note I wanted to 'hold'. It still doesn't quite do what I envisaged but I think that may rely more on the style that's used. As I don't fully understand the Tracks Window yet I haven't quite worked out the video musocity posted. Trial and error seems to be the order of the day here! Thanks

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
