Hi everyone,

I've been struggling with getting my own acidized loops to work in Band-in-a-Box, even after attempting to use a program like Acidizer to prepare them. I'm hoping someone in the community can provide some guidance.

Here's the problem I'm facing:

I have a library of acidized loops in various genres.

I've attempted to use Acidizer to acidize these loops for compatibility with Band-in-a-Box.

However, when I import these loops into Band-in-a-Box, it doesn't seem to recognize the chord changes or generate appropriate accompaniments. The loops just stay the same.

I've followed tutorials and documentation, but I'm missing something crucial, and I'm not sure what it is. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or can provide guidance on how to properly prepare and use acidized loops in Band-in-a-Box?

Any help, advice, or step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated.

What version of Biab are you using ?
I just tried a bass loop I made and Acidized it with Acidizer (running in Vista compatibility mode)
When I put it in the Loops folder it shows the Acid info I set it to.
If I use Riff Edit in the Tracks view I can see it's transposing to the chord:

Thanks for your reply. I am using the BIAB 2024. My computer is using Windows 11.

I know Acidizer is an old software. For compatibility mode, in Acidizer, I chose Windows 7.

If you have further advice, pls let me know.

This was Acidized with Acidizer in Win10 Bass-4beats-Croot-90bpm.wav
put it in your Loops folder and see if the info shows in the Loop Picker, it won't show the info in the new MultiPicker.
You should be able to set all the Loop info in the Picker and it will save it to a file.

Hi, i have tried your loop and it worked in my BIAB. It seems to show that you are able to make your own loop work in BIAB, which is wonderful.

Can you explain the way you worked with Acidizer and importantly, is it possible for you to share your version of Acidizer? I found that in the past some users uploaded Acidizer onto our forum but the links died. On my part, it was also difficult to find a version of Acidizer on the web. Perhaps my version of Acidizer did not work properly. If possible, I hope you may share your version of Acidizer with me. Unfortunately the Acidizer manufacturer's site does not work anymore.

Thanks,

To get the Acidizer to run on Win 10 now I had to set the Compatibility mode to Vista.
Just drag n drop the file in.

I wonder if the Acidizer from the link above may be any different.

Thank you for all your kind help.

Thank you very much. I confirm that the version of Acidizer that you uploaded seems to be more stable than what I had.

Would you be so kind as to remind me of what to do with Acidizer?

In the Acidizer software, I chose Disk-based, then I typed the tempo of the loop.

Must I choose 'Root note for transposing' and then choose the original key of the loop like C, F, etc or should I just choose 'don't transpose'?

Thank you.

If it's a Drum select no transpose else if it's an instrument set the current root note then Biab will transpose it to fit the song key or chord root.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
