i can be there by midnight
if i leave now and the coast is clear
some cabernet
whattaya say
let's intermingle

we've spent too much of our forever
   sleeping single
   not one more night
   sleeping single

it's been like a dream
from the first moment i saw you
in a fevered heat
my heart skipped a beat
turning cartwheels

i wanna feel those feelings
brand new every day
kissing your sweet lips
while my heart flips
turning cartwheels

we've spent too much of our forever
   sleeping single
   not one more night
   sleeping single

don't wanna spend one more moment
without you by my side
or one more night

Hi Floyd,

Like Dan, you had my full attention with the intro. A simple but very effective lyric. the backing tracks are full and fill in all the cracks and creases in the soundscape. It sounds to me you've left the background tracks a little more forward in the mix than you typically do. I like it!

As always, a superb vocal. What I particularly like about your vocal delivery on this one is how you clipped the last word of each verse, almost a vocal staccato.

And the surprise ending was a real treat - leaving the last vocal line without the resolution was quite effective

Quite a treat. Might I say the song was "perky"?

Take care,

Alan

Floyd,

This song should be streaming on every platform 24 hours a day...

It's contemporary, pop-infused and superbly sung and mixed. Perfection!

Very good stuff Floyd. I really like this one. Your writing is always good, and it is here as well. The words fit the melody like a hand in a glove on this one. If I had to pick one stand out on this song, I think it's your vocals. Great delivery. I know it's a pop song, but there's still that country in your voice and I think it would fit either genre. I thought the distorted backing guitar was a little loud in a few places, particularly in the chorus, but that just me being hyper critical. Great listen.

Hi, floyd jane.

So much to like here. Upbeat, fun inner rhymes. Instruments interweaving in the poppy arrangement. Nice open sound, solid harmonies.

And, of course, your vocal:

   While my heart flips

Nice ending too!

The 70's called, they saw your painting and they want their color palette back! Just kidding, I couldn't resist! wink

As you said - all within three minutes! Wow!

S-O-M-E-T-H-I-N-G...

Just kidding.

But did I complete the assignment correctly??

Seriously, this is well-layered with a pleasant, nostalgic feel. These types of songs take us back to an era of a greater innocence I think, in mood, delivery, and production.

Thanks for carrying the torch!

I love those internal rhymes, something I also explored in my last song, and am starting to understand how cool they can be.
Nice story, great vocals and a REALLY good mix.
And the ending is a really cool idea.
The choruses sound to me more like a pre-chorus and I was waiting for a chorus with a bit more oomph or something.
But since I seem to be the only one who feels that way, it's probably just me and nothing to worry about.

Enjoyed the listen a lot anyway smile

ALL your songs are fun, floyd. No matter how sad some may get, I am always happy hearing them. In this one I love the flowing melody filled with longing lyrics, and how the title is the strong hook. I can hear couples around the world singing this to each other. Very relatable. A friend of mine sells t-shirts that say "Forever is not as long as you think." I had him add ",,,and Never is just around the corner" for the back.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Your voice is what takes this song over the top. It has your trademark inflections (the voice inflection on "flips" is wow, to give just one example) ... the song is really well written, etc., but the voice really showcases it at its full value. Love the uptempo, upbeat feel.

Hats off to you.

The opening is killer with the guitars shifting across the speakers. The acoustic sounds great especially with your expert editing on the fills and solo. Super vocals and a mix that is balanced and showcases all the different guitars. Of course it's well written and let us not forget the inspired cut off ending. I thoroughly enjoyed my multiple listens, Tom

The melody, progression, lyrics and delivery as so strong the backing could be flipped from opo to power pop and drop in on honky tonk to prove a point.
I dig the arrangement as it stands.

Yes, this is fun! There’s such a happy Jimmy Buffet vibe that we’re both enjoying.
The solo acoustic has a really nice light touch like his fingers are dancing along the fretboard.

Vocals are impeccable as always and so is the band and mix.

Great arrangement - the outro was cool.

Love the artwork too.

You get such a fantastic polished sound to your productions, this one is exceptional. You had me from the first note to last. Like the lyrics, hook, vocals, and especially the way funky soul groove mixed with a little country. The guitars sound great also. NICE !!!!

Thanks. The beginning includes 2 "chunking" (simple) Kontakt guitars. But the main melodic parts are coming from the BIAB rhythm guitar (with fills fromm the BIAB acoustic)

The Bob Doyle Media YouTube channel is known for demonstrating how you can creatively incorporate AI into your projects - from your song projects to avatar building to face swapping, and more!

His latest video, Next-Level AI Music Editing with ACE Studio and Band-in-a-Box, he explains in detail how you can use the Melodist feature in Band-in-a-Box with ACE Studio. Follow along as he goes from "nothing" to "something" with his Band-in-a-Box MIDI Melodist track, using ACE Studio to turn it into a vocal track (or tracks, you'll see) by adding lyrics for those notes that will trigger some amazing AI vocals!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
