Well, it seems I've spoilt the thread by chiming in again. Sorry folks, there was no caveat posted or bouncer at the door to ensure I didn't enter. Well, I had a play with that SGU, I've replaced all but the drums & organ. It's not finished as I haven't worked out the verse melody. Sadly it's me croaking - I'm sure a tougher, more character filled and tuneful voice might make it rather better but it is, as this point in time, what it is: Pop Garage Psychish song.

My mid 80s song & video about that other side of the psych era. Written & recorded in about 86. Remixed video added for the Pygmy Beat album - Like Lies To Children in about 2011 and reuploaded after my wife wiped my account in 2018 germane non the less... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1Q5aKf6Xuo

My connection to psychedelic music is this: Nobody wanted to hear saxophones for a few years, so I gigged by playing bass.
I played songs like Lucy In The Sky, White Rabbit, Mechanical World, You're Gonna Miss Me, Too Much To Dream Last Night, Time Has Come Today, The Wind Cries Mary, Incense and Peppermint, Magic Carpet Ride, Ride My See Saw, Whiter Shade Of Pale, Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, Psychotic Reaction, and more.
I'm sure I missed more than a few. I'm not exactly sure where the borders of Psychedelic music started and stopped, or what exactly was considered psychedelic. It was just pop music to me. Some songs like Dazed and Confused are easy to peg, but was Riders On The Storm?
Early in my career, an older musician told me the best way to keep working as a musician is to be a chameleon. So I just play the instrument(s) and songs that my audience at the time wants to hear. It was great advice, as I'm making a living doing music and nothing but music.
I see this thread has been quiet for quite a few months, but I just now ran across it.
My connection to the genre is, basically, I was aware of it. At the time - '60s and '70s, I played what is now labeled Classic Country (Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Ray Price, etc.). There wasn't a lot of crossover between the two genres! Heck, back then, if you played a diminished chord in a country song or used an effects pedal, you were suspected of not really being country after all.
But, FWIW, here's one I created in BIAB about 6 or 7 years ago. Why? Well, I just like to experiment with music and see what happens. I often cruise the deeper, darker halls of BIAB to see what I can find. I occasionally get a pleasant surprise.
Anyway, here's the song, with some slight "massaging" in Audacity since the original iteration. It's all BIAB - I didn't add anything to it. I just played around with the plug-ins and RTs and came up with this. (I'll soon be posting it on the User's Forum):
I was living in the San Francisco Bay Area at the right time. My band's light show included Grade D- horror films projected on the back screen while we played. Long hair (check) Weird clothes (check) Overindulgent lead guitar (check)
That I don't remember much else is my offer of proof.

Before your account gets closed for spamming (and it will when enough people report you) I wanted to ask you some things.
One of my jobs in IT was to contact people who did what you did here and tell them that their account was being closed for violation of the terms of service, which included a "no spam" clause. Most had an excuse, said they didn't know, or gave me a sob story about that being the only way they could take money because of little kids being home, etc. None of that mattered, and I just closed them down. But I always tried to have a conversation before I closed them down.
So I will ask you what I asked them. That job was about 15 years ago, so the information I gathered then is out of date. What is the going rate in 2024 per hit generated? Is there really enough money in spamming that you sit all day and infiltrate endless web pages, creating accounts so you can post your carefully buried links? What are the odds that there will be enough interested users on a random web site that will have people that both need to go to detox AND live in Chandler Arizona? How many pages have you planted that particular spam link on? How many hits have you generated for them and over what time frame?
Please respond quickly because soon you won't be able to. (Though the typical MO for a spammer is to plant the bomb and never come back, so you will probably never come here again.)
Inquiring minds want to know!
