We Were Alive on Soundcloud We Were Alive on YouTube A song about the good old days of our species. You know, when there was just a few of us and we tended to keep it going. Style is _MONDAY.STY (Slow Swing 8ths Blues) RealTracks in song: 2730:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm BluesSlowSwingMike Sw 085 RealTracks in style: 565:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Blues Monday Sw 065 RealTracks in song: 3722:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PopSoulHeldSlow128Brent Sw 040 RealDrums in style:Nashville128^08-a:Snare, Hihat , b:Snare, Ride Dave Bell of Blue Attitude played guitar and I sang and played bass. Oh, yeah, I also played the marimba part in the Bridge on the Donner piano. We Were Alive They say it was a long, long time ago when everyone would help the group survive. It was the time they felt we knew we were alive. Remember how it was before we fell? We had each other's back to help us thrive. It was when we worked as one. We were alive. How can we survive when all we have just goes away? Greed will have a price we all must pay someday. I wonder if one day we'll come around, and maybe love of life will soon revive. All that once was lost refound, we'll come alive. End: When we lived as one we were alive. Intro-- D7 C#7 F#m C#7 V-- (F#m F#m Bm7 Bm7)2 C#7 C#7-C#7b5 F#m F#m BR-- Bm7 Bm7 A7 A7 Bm7 Bm7 A7 C#7

Marty,
Love it! This is great! The melody is fantastic and the bluesy arrangement just works so well.
Dave has some great laid back and punchy guitar lines to match your awesome vocal.
So well done!

More marimba please! Marty, your bluesy side has returned here and man are you right at home! Great singing and playing as usual! Your bass work is always spot on and never overstepping it's proper boundaries.... You are always in the pocket. Man you are spoiled having that Dave fellow available to knock out those killer solos and fills! Enjoyed it all! Thanks, TB

Marty, awesome song! Bass and guitar really shine, but LOVE your vocals on this one, and the vocal FX chain sounds spot on to me. You're really putting out some amazing stuff.
And yes, MORE MARIMABA! Ha!

Once again a pro recording. Great message and great guitar work from Dave as usual. But my ear went straight to that smooth bass. You are always right in the pocket Marty. Well done!

Dave's guitar sounds as sad as your vocal. Sad story, great melody and a very cool band.I like the way the chorus swings, (helped by the marimba), with a walking bass and the verse bass leaves little holes, pauses and leaps. Really cool.

My son is coming up today and bringing me some percussion pieces so I can make loops. There is a cowbell in there. hehe You are right about being spoiled by Dave, and I do feel bad about it. But he's so darn good and can play any type.

fj Ah, yes, the good ol' days... I have a feeling you were there, floyd. The trick to writing thinking-man's stuff is to not know what I'm saying either. There're probably others who would agree that when I'm gone things will be better. Once again a pro recording. Great message and great guitar work from Dave as usual. But my ear went straight to that smooth bass. You are always right in the pocket Marty. Well done! Thanks, Steve. Your music is soaring, man. I'm really enjoying the ride. Thank you, Dan. Yeah, we're naturally social creatures, but still socially awkward. hehe

“They say it was a long, long time ago when everyone would help the group survive.”
We have some of those thoughts while watching world news coverage. Hopefully the day will come soon when everyone is awakened.
Dave’s opening sets the bar high and y’all keep it there in performances and production, Marty.
The video’s scenes with the ducks and the laughing children gave Janice a smile that will last all day long. 😊
Let’s keep that flame of hope burning brightly!

Marty and Dave, you hit another one out of the park! A totally awesome song. Great vocal, bass, guitar, and mix - as always! Thanks, Mario. Always appreciate your comments. Cool band, and so far I haven't heard a song of you guys that I didn't like. And you're a better singer than you think you are Thanks so much, Brain. If I compare myself now to when I first started putting stuff on this forum, I am a better singer, and I am grateful for the help here. Hi, Marty. Swinging blues! Dave does a fantastic job, bass keeps the groove, as do the vocals. Nice work! Thank you for listening< David. Glad you like it. “They say it was a long, long time ago when everyone would help the group survive.”

J&B Hi, you guys. Yeah, no one ever said that; it's just a myth I like to project on our future. Keep staying hopeful, you two who are one, and keep faning that flame with your wonderful example.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
