Dan, THANKS! Dusty is a not-so-secret weapon for sure. I'll listen to most songs acapella at some point just to fully appreciate all the little things he's doing. Glad you liked it!

Ray, really appreciate the listen and your discerning comments. I often reach for riskier phrasing and/or cadences, just because that's where the fun is for me. I do recognize that there is risk in that. But in the best case, there is also reward. Maybe next time!

A great production and this really shows what BiaB can do.
Job well done. I particularly liked the bridge.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Thanks, Steve! I'll post a song with more of my playing one day, and you'll see why I use so much BiaB. Ha!

This is most noticeable to me (now) in the opening section.
Yes, later on it's okay. Or maybe the ears will have adapted by then.

I enjoy your pop songs, and this was no different.

Fun listen! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Yeah, funny how the ears can do that.

Why, thank you, Dave! Of course I'm not buying into it, given the level of musicianship is so high on this forum. But a nice thing to hear just the same. smile

There’s no need to overly parse out this production. It is ALL good.
The vocals and the band session guys are great as is the arrangement.
Great use of BiaB tracks wrapped in an open/airy mix with plenty of dynamics.
The lyric imagery is very cool and the melody is bouncy and fun.

We much enjoyed it!

J&B

PS We found your comments to Bob regarding post mix activity interesting as we are the same way. We master with a reference song and listen to the results on several sound systems. BTW Bud has a severe high f loss also and has a custom “mixing program” for his hearing aids. smile

Janice and Bud, ya'll are too kind, BUT...so glad you enjoyed it! Interesting about Bud's mixing program, had no idea anything like that existed. Had forgotten ya'll were in Georgia. My whole family lives (or is buried) there. I'm the only one who left and never came back. Our son loves visiting though. He can't believe there's a place where people are so sincere and friendly. (Those are uncommon characteristics around here, sadly.) THANKS for the listen!!

You have a way with the '60's sound DC.
Some unusual lines in there but that's ok.

Thanks, Jani! "Catchy" is what we're going for, so happy you were "caught".

THANK YOU, Vic! I do love that for our lyricist, the rain in Spain doesn't fall mainly in the plains, if you know what I mean. Besides, if it weren't for my fondness of these sometimes offbeat lyrics, we wouldn't have any songs at all.

Glad you liked it, Brad! I really keep the mixes simple, with the vocals, bass and kick in the middle and everything else somewhere else. I'll pan guitars hard left and right if it's not a distraction.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
