My question has to do with certain functions on a keyboard controller that, when configured properly to a software program, allow you to operate things like start/stop, record/playback volume, track selection, etc., from the keyboard controller instead of having to go to your computer keyboard for such things. For example, The M Audio keyboard I'm getting will, out of the box, give one control of Pro Tools from the controller. There are drivers at M Audio for other software programs that allow the same type of control. The nearest thing to it I can find is a reference in the PT manual about some wireless interface that gives you this kind of functionality, but I don't want to go wireless. I am willing to set everything up manually if need be; I just need to know how and what to use. This has nothing to do with piano or any other sound. I just want to get more functional use of the controller keyboard.
