If you have BIAB 2012, that version of RealBand has exactly the feature you're looking for. You can highlite a section of audio and save it as a separate file (specifically for the purpose of making loops)

the snippets you save will not have the header required by most looping software, As RB uses its own proprietary way of appropriating the info normally stored in the header.
