We don't like to throw anything away that can be reused or recycled.

Same here. I think the question that's really on the table is whether there really is some entity that will re-use old floppy disks. I would simply offer up the new old stock floppies on Craigslist for free. Meet in a McDonald's parking lot or something at a busy intersection if you don't like to have CL respondents coming to your house. My transaction of the sale of my MIM Fat Strat occurred at the McDonald's down the street from my workplace, as did my purchase of a DirectTV tuning box, a purchase of a nice 8GB Sansa Fuze+ mp3 player, etc. People that are used to buying/selling on Craigslist are used to this type of arrangement.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
