Create the linear form first is the best answer.
Think of first and second endings, codas, etc as a PRINT function only
Remember to set the number of repeats to 1 in the box on the style line. It will probably read
1 xxx 1 where xxx is the number of bars in the whole song.
Don't forget to check fake sheet mode and always print from the fakesheet layout (the green button with the tied eighth notes)

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
