 Hey, thanks Mario and John, this has been the key hint. In order to play WMA it is necessary to install Windows Media Player and the related Codecs within PlayOnLinux. That did the trick! Now both, RT and Midi are working like a charm. I will make a few more tests, e.g., to find out how to replace MME with ASIO, and whether everything else works fine.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
