Try adding a part marker to the bar after where you want the change to occur.

For example, if you want the rhythm lead-in to happen in bar 8 because the chorus starts at bar 9, click on the number "9" on the chord sheet. This will cause the "9" to be enclosed in a blue square. If you click it again, the square will become green and a third click will remove the part marker setting.

After creating a blue or green square, regenerate the song and a drum break will be added to bar 8. The green part marker has more movement associated with it than the blue one. Also, the drums in a section that starts with a green part marker will have greater movement/energy. This makes the green option ideal for choruses.
