Besides what John said

-Install iLok

-reboot

-run iLok Manager

-- in upper right hand corner see the empty space for typing something and a little "..I" next to it? Click on that "..I" and it will pop open a window to enter a very log string of alphanumerics - it will allow you to paste in that long string from a copy and paste

-- that will "activate" (ALLOW USE) the SW in question.

Be aware that SOME programs, if you try and run them BEFORE activating via iLOK will try to get you to "authorize" from inside that app, which can be a headache and cause headaches if you do that FIRST.

Almost all iLok dependent SW I've have has explicit instructions on how to install and activate- I KNOW AIR Xpand2 is one on of them - AIR site

http://www.airmusictech.com/kb/article/2216

so read the instructions first
good luck

Larry

PS - if you are running WINDOWS 10 and after installing iLok and you boot and you try to run the iLOK manager and get a "not installed properly" or similar error don't panic - the "Pace License Services" probably just needs a little "tweak" in the Windows 10 Services

run Services (if not sure how to do this type "services" in the Win 10 search window [bottom left] next to "start icon" and select the "services" app that comes up

In that long scary list of services find the "PACE License Services" (it is alphabetically listed),

- right click it, then select properties, then change "Startup type:"

from

"Automatic" to "Automatic (Delayed Start)"

then re-boot

- Not sure if pace/iLok ever actually fixed this (given iLok knows about it now , when they install they could have SET that service to delayed!)
