This is a brand new song, it's a political song, my apologies to you who favor the president-elect.Most instruments are BB, except for a Telecaster overdub. The slide guitar is RB.
I originally expected this song to have synth and keyboards, but because of the subject matter I fell back on my roots, Southern rock with a bluegrass backbone.

OVER THE EDGE December 8, 2016

GGDD (2)

Em D What were you thinking,
C GAm now you've gone way to far
EmC It took so long, so many lives,
D to stand where we are
GEm But here we are together,
AmD it's too late to place the blame
EmC and now we need to save what's left,
D can you hear me call your name

GDG Hold my hand, we're stepping over the edge
GDG Hold my hand, we're stepping over the edge
GCD Hold my hand (repeat)

EmD Filled with suspicion
CGAm now you think they're coming for you
EmC gonna take your rifle, take your job,
D then they'll come for your children too
GEm how did you get so frightened
AmD who told you your life was so bad
EmC and why did you believe them
D now you're gonna lose everything you have

GDG chorus
GCD (4)
GD (2)
Em D I don't want to shock you,
C GAm you should know what's coming along
EmC This is not TV, it's easy to see,
D it's gonna come out wrong
GEm The guy in charge says trust me,
AmD he hasn't got a clue
EmC But if you and I stand back to back,
D we just might see it through

GDG chorus
GCD (4) G.

Cool tune Will!! The banjo caught me off guard at first-different for you. But it works nicely. I like the way the slide fits in a lot. Nice one! Take care. Greg

Will, banjo, mandolin, slide guitar and a British sound all coming together to make a great song! Very good work and I also liked the low vocal part supporting the lead vocal. Thanks, Torrey

I am from Florida, and one of my most memorable experiences was playing guitar at the back of a group of old-timers at the Suwannee Bluegrass Festival. I love banjo, have one in fact, and look for opportunities to use its unique energy. BB has great banjo performances, and the banjo sounds on my Yamaha keyboard are very realistic also, so my own instrument stays in the attic. They are quite hard to play.
I used a new technique to build the slide part. I printed out the song with all its bars showing on BB, then played through with the vocal on Pro Tools, circling the bars where slide would work. Then when I went into RB, I could highlight those sections and use multi-riff to choose the parts.

Torrey pretty much nailed our thoughts.

I had the privilege during our bluegrass years to play with some world class banjo pickers. I like the texture you added with it. Often that doesn't work as well as it does here.

Nice production!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
