OP Samuel Davis Journeyman Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 547 Florida	Swamp This song is a bit different from my normal tunes and I don't think that I've heard anything quite like it here on the forums. It's a kind of anthemic rap rock song about not giving into societal norms and standing up for what you believe in. Real Tracks: 644: Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Hard Rock Thrash Hollow 1418: Bass, Electric, Southern Rock 1530: Guitar, Electric, Soloist Pop Power Real Drums=Metal Slow Big Tom Groove Besides the BIAB real tracks I also added 5 VST instrumental tracks using Hybrid, Xpand and Groove Agent. All mixing and recording was done in Cubase 9. There are 11 Vocal tracks With variouse effects on each channel. I will post a link to an isolated vocal sample as well as a Soundcloud link at the bottom of the post. Lyrics: People pushing people shoving All this ruckus over nothing All these differing opinions Got us fighting just like minions Veterans living in the streets Kids with nothing left to eat got our finger on the trigger But the crack keeps getting bigger Question the system. Don’t be a victim. Don’t buy into their lies. Don’t just believe what they believe in Stand up for what is right. Teachers cannot teach And the preacher cannot preach Equal pay for half the work For fear that feelings may get hurt It’s the beginning of the end All to make sure we don’t offend They keep on trying to infect us With political correctness. Question the system. Don’t be a victim. Don’t buy into their lies. Don’t just believe what they believe in Stand up for what is right. Go to the doctor for your problems But they never really solve them Tell you try to get a grip As they write another script Here’s a pill for your erection But it’s all just misdirection Say it’s in the name of science What they really want is silence. I would add some more effects to the vocals at the beginning, like slight delay, and more echo and reverb or something. They sound dry compared to the rest of the song. But a great song though. I'll go along with David's comment that it might have been cool to add some FX to the voice, but that's just a small nit. A powerful sound assault ( love the jackhammer!?) with some good rapping lines (I know from experience its not easy to get that synced). I agree with others that the lead vocal could use more verb/delay. Good work on an outside-the-box song. Robert

I really admire both your willingness and ability to jump into new stuff. Our move from traditional bluegrass to Americana and blues was was a slow process. You seem to be a chameleon! I love it all and feel like each genre has something different you can learn from it. I also like combining genres. Country/rock, country/rap, rap/rock etc. It's just fun to create new stuff.
