Being a bassist for the last 55 years or so, I never leave BIAB bass line alone.

I don't know many that will consider a cheapware notation app with an interface from the 1990s to be the ideal solution, however.

Why not MuseScore which is free? Its workflow isn't great either but you don't need much to import MIDI from BIAB and tweak the bass lines from there. Likewise, if you don't need notation, why not use a sequencer that lets you tweak a piano roll — or even BIAB for that function? BIAB for Mac got the piano roll in 2018 or so and the Win version has had it forever.

I would never use Finale or Dorico (both of which I have) for this task. I liken it to using a tourniquet on a mosquito bite. I still use Encore (which is coming back) if I need to use notation or just edit the piano roll.
