Paj Journeyman P Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 350	I would strongly advise you to have RIAA equalization/preamping before you go into your speakers, powered or not. Not just for the sound but to protect the HF drivers from being fried. We once had a very popular FM Broadcast DJ go through our PA without our permission on our off-night and he fried every HF driver (all heavy-duty EV) in our Community Light & Sound stacks. He knew he did it and the club knew he did it, so when we demanded they pay, they did. We never again worked that club or any place that DJ worked---their machinations. No good came of it except that we were made whole equipment-wise. Also, a friend of mine was nicely augmenting his service fees by replacing HF drivers in church installations after DJs abused the house systems. He was Christian enough to let them know what happened and how to prevent a re-occurrence. Paj 8^)
