I think someone posted the solution a short time ago but I cannot seem to find it.

I would like to find out which styles use RT #2498 which is Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm RockabillySwingKevin Sw 165

I am having trouble using that particular RT because when I generate the song, there are very noticeable gaps in the piano playing but only for that RT

I would like to find which over styles use it so I can load them and see if I am having the same problem.

Here is what I am getting

Any ideas.

Not in front of the computer now, but according to 2023 new features list:

"You can launch the StylePicker that will show only styles that use the selected RealTracks."

Yes, in the RealReack picker... Right clicking on a "realtrack" brings up the menu with a new menu item choice to "Launch stylepicker showing styles with selected RT".
Very cool new feature.

Thanks I found it. Now on to the problem at hand.

I loaded the demo songs for the following styles that use RT# 2498:

_ODDSTAR.STY
_RBILLYSW.STY
_RBILLYFX.STY
_JUMPING.STY
_BALBOA.STY
_FURL.STYU

All of them have rather large and noticeable gaps in the generated piano track.

Here is what I get with the _FURL.STY

All of the other styles look the same at various locations.

Can someone load those demos, generate the song and then look at the audio waveform for the piano and let me know if you get the same. If you mute all the other tracks while the song is playing, you can obviously hear the dropout.

Now so far I do not seem to get the problem except with that particular RT in question.

Thanks

I see and hear the "gaps", but for me the piano track works ok while playing along with the other tracks.
but yeah, by itself, it sounds un-natural... almost like a rude noise gate was employed...

I just noticed another RT in that same _FURL style demo that sounds weird in another way...

Guitar 3... 3887:Guitar
Sounds like the envelopes' attack was ducked or gated somehow... strange.

Hello,

If you could check out the date of two of the files on your system it will better help us address this issue.

If you can go to the folder C:\bb\Soloists and look for the file RPno0232.ST2. If you can tell us the Date Modified for this file it will help us out.

If you don't run Band-in-a-Box from your internal drive and only run it from the external drive than instead of C: the 'C' will be replaced by which ever letter your external drive is.

Thanks,
Dave

Can you unzip these files to your Soloists folder, reboot BIAB, and try again? It should be improved...

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
