Tips for Beginner Guitar Student using Band-in-a-Box
- Playalong to songs using the Guitar Tutor
1. Setup the Guitar Tutor. The guitar tutor will visually show guitar playing chords along to any song, any style. To set it up, open the guitar window, press the tutor button, set the type of chords that you want (e.g. folk/open chords, or barre chords, or jazz chords). Optionally hear the chords in audio too.
2. Now enter any song into Band-in-a-Box. Play the song, with the chords window and the guitar window open. You can now see the guitar chords playing on the screen, and you can copy the shapes and play along.
3. If you have trouble with parts, you can select a region of the chord sheet, and press "Play Loop" button. Or you can do this from the notation window, by pressing "Loop Screen", which does a 4 bar section at a time.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
