I get this error when starting BIB

"This application has failed to start because WMASF.DLL was not found"

I found the file(dll) online and put it into the windows system folder and still same error.
any tips?

windows xp 32 sp3.

Have you tried reinstalling the latest version of Windows Media Player?

You might also need to register the DLL for Windows to recognize it. And it might go in the Windows system32 (not system) folder. Just Google "registering dll" to get instructions on how to do that.

And as Blake said, you may just want to reinstall WMP.

Go to Google and search for WMASF.DLL download. Choose a site then download the DLL file,and pest your system 32 folder and your problem should be solved or Go to Start → Run... (or press the Windows key with R) and type in the following and press the Enter key: sfc /scannow This should replace any damaged system files.

Sounds like you need to install Windows Media Player.
