Does anyone know about using Native Instruments Komplete software synths plug-ins with Power Tracks Pro? I just bought Komplete 6 and want to know if I can use their software synths with PTP. I do all my MIDI work in PTP because it is so user friendly compared to my Cubase 5 (in which I do all my audio recording). Been using PT and BIAB for over 10 years so I know them quite well and should be able to follow directions easily. I could go on using my current hardware synths for pre-recording, but the Komplete instruments are sooooooo GOOD!!! Thanx for any help!

Should be no problem, a lot of us have used NI plugin instruments with PT although I can't say for sure about this exact package. Just keep in mind that certain plugins like some drum or guitar programs that can create their own grooves don't work except as a sound module only. The groove creation part is not supported.

OK ... having established that, now how do I get PTP to recognize them or "load" them, whatever the term needed? Never used a plug-in before. I am really just interested in using the instruments from Komplete (pianos, guitars, etc.) controlled on MIDI channels. Thanx again for any help.

I should say, "Never used a plug-in 'instrument' before ... I've used plug-in fx.

They load the same way.
On a midi track, select the arrow like you were going to the FX area,
the top slot of the four is for a synth, the next three are effects on that synth.
Click dropdown on top slot (out of four) and scroll to bottom to 'load vsti'.
Make your sound your own!

You really should experiment with audio in PTPA it records very nicely, and really audio is the same in any ?DAW. You can't tell the difference afterwards. Staying in one DAW has huge benefits. less hassles with moving and such.

Got it ... thank you for the help.
P.S. I do record audio occasionally on PTP, but I do the heavy lifting on Cubase. I love PTP for the MIDI realm though because 1. I have used it for "forever" (since it came out as a freebie with Band In A Box) 2. It is VERY easy to manipulate data. 3. The Big Lyrics Window is perfect for using MIDI files for Praise and Worship at my church.
