Hi folks,
This problem for me has been present in previous years versions of Realband is present in 2015 as well.
Briefly like most people I have a few copies of realband on different drives (backup purposes) for example on the biab issue hard drive and also on my computer and I do like to update both.
However if I update my external drive realband and then open my computer drive realband I get messages popups like the following at startup.
------------------------------------------------------------ Some BBW-related folder locations appear to be different than the BB folders stored in Realband. Okay to review these folder locations? You have set your Band-in-a-Box folder to L:\bb\, but Band-in-a-Box program has recently been run from I:\bb\
Ok to change the setting to I:\bb\ ?
You have set your RealDrums folder to L:\bb\Drums\, but Band-in-a-Box program has recently been with RealDrums set to I:\bb\Drums\
Ok to change the setting to I:\bb\Drums\ ? -----------------------------------------------
NO I don't want to change them to I, I want to keep them at L, I tell realband that but it just ignores it, and asks me again at startup of realband.
Doesn't matter if I say yes or no and review the settings and go into preferences in realband and then song generation and set the correct realtrack and realdrum folders there, the same popup message will appear again if I restart realband.
Disconnecting the external drive last time seemed to get rid of the popups but don't know if that will work all the time.
is it possible to restore to factory settings in realband I wonder?
Have to be more on here that have seen these annoying popups.
Thanks very much for any advice.

Hi Musiclover,
It's possible to reset RB to factory settings by ...
... renaming the REALBAND.INI file and RB.CFG to something like REALBAND.INI.OLD and RB.CFG.OLD. This will effectively "delete" those files so that RB is forced to create new ones (thus the factory rest). If the problem is not solved by doing this, you can always delete the newly created files and then return the original files to their original names.
Hope this helps, Noel

Thanks for quick reply Noel will try that, just a bit annoying that it won't take the preferences settings.
Hope you are enjoying the 2015 package.

Hi Noel, same issue here. Just upgraded to 2015 Everything Pak and pointed my Real Tracks/Drums to another drive, from C:\BB to D:\BB. Backing up the old .ini and .cfg files did not fix this issue. I closed RB after generating the new .ini and .cfg and the prompt came back.
For now when the "Okay to review these folder locations?" prompt comes up, I just choose "No" and it goes away. Just a slight annoyance every time I open it.
The .ini has no reference to the BB folders, the .cfg is encrypted or something since it looks garbled. It does have D:\BB references in it but none for C:\BB.
I'm starting to think it's not able to separate RealTracks/Drums folder locations from default BIAB/RB locations, ie, program is stored in C:\BB and C:\RealBand but RealTracks/Drums are on D:\BB. There are separate field choosers for the main program and realtracks locations but it doesn't appear to distinguish that on launch of RB.

Eureka, I figured it out.
SOLUTION: Rename the old C:\BB folders of Drums and RealTracks to Drums_OLD and RealTracks_OLD or You can simply unplug the external drive to avoid the issue altogether as you indicated originally.
Apparently when RealBand launches, it checks both locations and I didn't remove or delete the old folders. By simply renaming them, I didn't remove anything. As a P.S. to that, on 2014 I only had the "Pro" version which was the minimal RealTracks/Drums. I re-pointed to D:\ when I upgraded to Everything PAK because of the enormous file sizes. I compared my C:\ and D:\ RealTracks and Drum folders and aside from a couple of 3rd party sounds I had purchased, everything is the same. I moved those over to the D:\ folders and in my case I'm probably able to wipe out the old RealTracks/Drum folders on C:\BB.
Hope this helps you Musiclover. So RealBand doesn't like keeping multiple copies of the same RealTracks and Drums folders on different drives is the bottom line here. I have a 3rd drive, F:\, that I use to back up C:\ and D:\ drives. Since it's an external USB, I don't have to have it plugged in while running RealBand so I shouldn't run into the issue.

Thanks a lot for that solution Steve, I will certainly try the renaming trick.

I think what RB is doing is comparing where you run the Realtracks and Realdrums from for both BiaB and RB. If they are different locations RB asks if you want to change them to match.
Keeping them both working from one central location is a good idea for many reasons, from compatibility to upgrading. Otherwise you may eventually find Realtracks available in RB that are not in BiaB or vice-versa. Plus new realtrack updates have to be applied to both locations.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!
