OP Debby Enthusiast D Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 45	I have BIAB 2011 and I'm having trouble finding the correct drum and bass line for a song out of the styles. Is there anyway to make a new style from a wav or mp3? I know you can make one from a midi but I don't have a midi for this song. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Debby

It works for MIDI, because MIDI is just the note information anyway. Why not try auditioning several different RealTracks and RealDrums to see if you find something close? Or, if you can find a particular part that's close, you can always use the hybrid style maker to mix and match parts from different styles to create a new, unique style. Either way, you're only going to get close or similar; it's not going to sound like the original. Muzic Trax Veteran Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 5,025 California	Debby, Search here for the song. You can't make a style directly from a wav or mp3 in Biab. If you can not locate a midi file with the same drum/bass lines, you could use the Notation or Piano Roll in either Biab or RealBand to imput the correct notes via midi playback. Just remember that you will need to "freeze" the tracks in Biab so they will not regenerate and overwrite your notes. Or, If you could find a similar pattern in different midi styles, you could mix-n-match the parts via the "hybrid style maker." When I am auditioning a song and style, I will write notes in the "memo" area to keep track of which part goes with which style to make a hybrid style. Once you have selected the parts, it is just a few mouse clicks in the hybrid style maker to locate them and have a new style generated instantly. I haven't used the hybrid style maker since we can now select and generate our RealTracks in real time now. You can do the same with RealTracks and the memo box, but select blank 4/4 to start and then generate each part that way. If the song needs to be an exact replica, the only way to do that is record the parts or input via notation/piano roll and freeze the tracks. Good luck, Trax

OP Debby Enthusiast D Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 45	Thanks a lot for all the suggestions. I kind of figured that would be the case. I may try to do it with Real Tracks. Someone has written a song to the tune of Miranda Lamberts "Gun Powder and Lead." It doesn't have to be exact but I wanted to get the drums and bass line as close as I could.
