Hi Daniel,
LOL, there's a whole board full here. I think Just Plain Folks has a musicians looking for other musicians page on their forum. Harmony Central. Guitar brand forums and keyboard brand forums sometimes have that. If you want to meet local musicians try your music stores bulletin boards and ask around, or put an ad on your local Craigs List (be careful with that - nuts out there).
Your question was a little vague but I'm assuming you're looking for local musicians to jam with or start a band.

Ad in a local paper ?
That can work. However, here in the US, probably the most used site for this kind of thing now is Craigslist.org in the 'community' section under 'musicians'
Every middle to large sized city in the country has a local craigslist section and there will be musicians in your area.
You can also try the old-school method of heading to your local music instrument supply stores and putting up the 'Musician seeks multi-instrumentalist' page with the tear-off phone numbers on the bottom.
Sundance's suggestion of taking a look at Just Plain Folks is another good idea if there's an active local chapter.
Also head to forums for the kind of musician/multi-instrumentalist you are looking for. If you want an electric guitar or bass player, a good place to look is www.fenderforum.com
Best wishes. Craigslist has worked for me in the past.

Ok so its 'musicians' somewhere in the world, it's not important if you play paper and comb, tuba, pennywhistle, pandamoniam, or whatever, it doesn't matter if you want to play classical, jazz, latin, funk, or if you are under five years old? You could be playing a week or two or be a hardened pro.. Sometimes a little detail is necessary if the forum is going to help
