Hello Peter,
thanks to you and your staff members - the newest update to version 2011.5 and the new RealTracks are so great!!! I think that the quality of the sound has improved even more. There's really a band playing - a very good band! The new mixer window is a great feature! How could be get around without it before?! (Now the only feature I'm still missing is the "Beamer"-function. (For those of you who don't live in the home country of the BMWs: In Germany a beamer is a projector ;-) So I'm talking about a nicer window than the Big Lyrics window for projeceting the lyrics for a sing along).
But a problem came up after creating some new song files (old songs with some of the newest RT-styles): After I started to rebuild the new songlist it stopped in the middle of the process with an error message, which said that an memory failure had occured with the file bbw.exe.
This didn't happen before in older builds of the program. Is it possible that this is a problem of build 325?
Greetings from Germany
Ulrich

I use a "beamer" (love that term) at school by just connecting the RGB output on my laptop to the projector and it looks great. I'm not a fan of the big lyrics window, so I copy the lyrics to the "lyrics document" window, re-size the chord screen to the left and put the document window beside it (no scrolling lyrics of course). It seems to work better for me. Maybe I don't fully understand your question, but I would think the projector support would be a function of your computer hardware/software, not the biab program.

Please try that again, it could be related to a song file that is 'corrupt'. To make the songlist, BB needs to load in every song, so if one is 'bad', it could cause a problem like that.
We haven't noticed and don't expect any differences in the song list function between 2011 and 2011.5.

I'm having problems with the songlist rebuilding in 2011.5, access violation at address 00a10942. The problem is always with files having frozen soloist track. Unfreeze and save fixes the situation, but if I freeze the track again, it may stop again, strangely does not happen every time. I probably didn't try rebuilding with 2011 version.

Peter,
Thanks for heads up on the corrupt song file stopping the song list build.
Been having problem or two just like that.
Will go back to a build, then look at culprit name, remove it temporarily and rebuild.

Hello Peter,
my first thought was about a corrupted file, too. When the building process stopped, the name of the last file processed was 'frozen'. So I exited BIAB, moved this mysterious file to another folder, started BIAB again and tried again to rebuild the songlist. The result: now the building process stopped at the next file in alphabetical order. I repeated the procedure: exiting BIAB, moving this next file to another folder, and so on. The result was the same: Error message with the same text: memory allocation error in the file bbw.exe.
Then I copied my whole original song folder into an older copy of BIAB - build 318 - and started rebuilding the songlist there. Result: No problem! Now I copied the new songlst.bin into my newest BIAB version. No problem with this songlst.bin there. So - I found a way that works. But hopefully this is not the final procedure for the future!
Greetings from Germany

I'm having exactly the same problem. Indeed, if I unfreeze all the tracks, it works.
But, listen, I did patiently put all the songs each in a different directory and did build a list (of one song) in each of those : then IT WORKS, no "Access violation at address 00A10942 in module 'bbw.exe". Read of address 00000348 at: 00A10942".
And then, I make another directory where I add all songs one by one and try to rebuild the song list each time I just added one... : it works until a certain number of songs (varies). It is always a "frozen track" song that makes it "access violation", BUT, nothing to do with the song, because if I try adding it "earlier" in my list, that same song didn't create a problem...
I'm running BIAB on my desktop and my laptop, both under Windows 7, 64 bit. IT WORKS ON MY LAPTOP ! So my solution is that I build my songs on the desktop, copy them on the laptop and build the list there. I then copy the SongListTemp4.BIN on the desktop (exactly same disk and directory...) and it works.
I already had it on BIAB 2010... 2011 didn't fix it and 2011.5 neither...
I'm turning nuts... I give it up. Over to you guys...
Kind regards from Belgium,
Yvan

Hmmmm... I've just rebuilt my a songlist file, about 800 songs, many of which have multiple frozen tracks, and did not encounter a problem.
Cheers, Keith

Status of my analysis : I have no proof of this, however, comparing my 2 PC's (both 64 bit win 7), one has a successful SQL server installation (through Visual Basic),the one that builds the song list properly. The other failed to install it. As a consequence, many things using SQL routines don't work (not even Windows Live, that cannot install !). Microsoft is aware, but was not able to find a solution/workaround so far (they advised me to re-install from scratch... ;o). I suspect that building the songlist file may use a SQL routine. Cheers, Yvan
