Hello - a long time ago (when people still used floppies) I purchased a BB program that I think was called 'The Jazz Guitarist'. It featured Oliver Gannon doing lots of Jazz standards like 'You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To', 'Glow Worm', 'Someone to Watch Over Me' etc. The program had the fretboard displayed and lead sheets as well. I can't seem to find this program on the site. Does anyone know if the Jazz Guitar Master class programs contain the same songs and particularly the lead sheets?

No it doesn't. The Jazz Guitar Masterclass is a teaching program, and covers many topics from scales, chords, reading etc. There are 10 sample tunes in the program, they are all originals though.

Many of us remember that old series. Long since lost on floppies but a wonderful colletion of works. A while back someone indicted they still had a copy but was unwilling to help replace something that had long ago been lost.

Hope you aren’t referring to me and I don’t think you are but …
I have the program and still run it as well as a few others (e.g., "the Pianist" ) in a WIN XP Virtual Machine, or in WIN XP proper (dual boot) because it does NOT run in Win 64 (it's an old 16 bit program)
But Like I mentioned at least a year or more ago over in the "Other PG Music Programs" forum I CAN NOT and will NOT give it away or "share" WITHOUT written permission (email or even a reply in this forum) from a PG rep/owner which I assume is Peter, PG Music, or maybe even Oliver?
So again - Peter want to jump in here this time??

In this case the disk were purchased from PGMusic and have been lost over time. I can only assume I have contacted PGMusic in the past (we are talking over 10 years) and they confirmed they are not able to provide replacements. Just wanted to keep the record straight.

As a music publisher, I understand and RESPECT your above position. However, as a marketing idea...this thread demostrates that there is at least SOME interest in obsolete programs including your Jazz instructional versions.
Wouldn't it be simple to the point of being trivial to copy such older versions into a format that can run on today's computers and again offer them for sale?
In any event, I am grateful to the OP because I own TWO of your jazz lessons which I had totally forgotten about. (-:
A Master Class (ca. 1999) and Comping on the High Strings (ca. unknown) both on CD. Don't know if they'll play but surely will try them out this weekend.

I lost my Jazz Guitarist disks in a move about ten years ago. Think they were 3.5" disks. There was a very cool version of A Foggy Day that I can't QUITE remember how to finish...

I am PLEASED to report that my Jazz Materclass...Jazz Comping High String...Jazz Comping Low Strings...and Blues Guitarist CD/ROMs all work on an older XP pc.
Back to the woodshed!!!!

Hi Danny,
One thing Peter did not mention that is important for you to know is that the "original" tunes he mentioned are all based off of Popular Jazz standards with the EXACT SAME Harmony.
This is an excellent program. get it you will love it and find it valuable.........
