So.... that's one reason why you don't post cover tunes on the net where people and lawyers can find them.
The absolute gall of those artists and song writers wanting to be paid for their original work...... (sarcasm in that comment)
post original songs and you don't have that nasty synch license thing to deal with.

I'll add my $.02 to some of the "read between the lines" stuff.
Yes I'm fully aware what the "law" says But reading between the lines I get this.
If you post a REALLY GOOD video of a cover of a has-been artist and it's getting some attention they will continue to allow the video but will ask that YouTube install advertising on the video they they will share in.I don't believe that any artist in his/her right mind will sue someone for making his/her song popular again and thus drawing in more royalties in the long run.
