https://soundcloud.com/jsting1/canyon-mistAnother instrumental done with all real tracks. It's a bit bass heavy at louder volumes so beware. I will work on curbing the bass in the future. I stumbled on to this style in the styles picker having glossed over it many times without ever giving it a listen. This time around I auditioned it and what do you know, cellos can rock!

Interesting song. Nicely done. What style is this? It's quite an exotic mix of instruments but worked together really well. Enjoyed it.

Charlie yes, Jeff.. it's customary here to post the tracks and or styles used in songs. These are interesting songs that really show off the power of BIAB. They remind me of all the endless jams from my high school band years... Add some heavy duty reverb and it would sound like the school dances in the gymnasium.... You're fairly new here, so you may not be aware of some unwritten forum courtesies. After 20 songs, posts scroll off the first page. Once a song scrolls off the 1st page it is far less likely to get heard or commented on. As a general courtesy, most people here refrain from posting a new song while they still have an active song on page 1. Occasionally, a stray comment will bump a song back to page one, and then the same person has more than one song on the front page... but as a general rule, we try to share the front page. Posting a bunch of songs all at once is called "dumping" , and it forces other newly posted songs to page 2. You can probably see why that might upset the person whose song got pushed out so somebody else can have multiple songs on page 1 at the same time.

My apologies and thanks for the courtesy check Pat. I will adhere to the etiquette of the forum in the future.
As far as the tracks go they are heavily edited and sometimes are a mash up of several styles. So its hard to just give the styles because I lose track of what I used. I can say that the song was inspired by one of the styles that I found down in the 85bpm area of the style picker and serves as the starting point and back ground. It was a hard rock guitar ballad with cello I believe. The soloist is primarily an edited mash up of the heavy metal soloist found in that bpm range. I always export the tracks from BIAB in the DI version to my DAW for editing and amp simulation.
The drums are 3 individually generated tracks of the same rock heavy tom style and are panned one hard left, one hard right and one down the center. They are then all sent to drum a buss for the polish. It allows the toms to bounce from one speaker to another that gives it a big sound. I did have to change the drums at the break though to get more crash and glimmer to add to the build up.

Jeff, REALLY well done! Great attention to detail. Your drums sound great. Besides the three tracks, did you process them at all? If so, how? The solo guitar has great bite and sustain. Is that Amplitude? Is so, is it a preset? The second guitar is a great compliment to the solo... The opening cello is nice, too. You seem to have a good handle on metal... where does that come from. It is nice to see someone doing this.... Taking BIAB to a place that others haven't gone... showing how hard it can ROCK. Some screamin' vocals would be nice.... Listened a bunch of times. Impressed. A big WELCOME to the showcase... look forward to more.. floyd (still listening... MAN! this thing ROCKS!...cranked all the way up..)

Thanks for the kind words Floyd. I do have the full version of Amplitube and the sound is a custom preset I had to craft specifically for this song. For some reason the DI recording of the real track lacked volume and audible sustain so I actually had to compress the Di signal prior to sending it through Amplitube. There is a very long signal chain I run it through in Amplitube and also the simulated mike placement helped a lot.
I come from a hard rock/metal background (guitar player) but as I have gotten older and arthritis has set in I have migrated to the country and contemporary praise styles. I still love my metal, wish I could still play it fluidly. I can play most of this song but some of the changes are difficult to pull off. I have been using BIAB for 4 years but this is the first time I have really tried to work with the metal tracks. I always thought they were lacking but with some tweaking you can get there.
Thanks again to all for the kind words.

Jeff,
Lets bump this up a bit. I feel you deserve an audience for this effort. Like Floyd I'm curious to hear your next productions... Make a song around it? Great energy boost at 2.50.

You've stretched the limits with this great rock number.
And demonstrated the versatility of the program at the same time. Powerful arrangement
Great effort.
