New Tune thought y'all might enjoy. "Love Won't Hide" Used the _altcap.sty for a bed (alt country), which is great as a a bed or song writing canvas. https://soundcloud.com/david-snyder-gigs/love-wont-hideOver the bed I played live acoustic, 6 and twelve string, panned left and right, two telecaster tracks one picking, one straight, and one stratocaster track, mixed up and down as necessary. I cut the drums going into the last prechorus at the key change, one whole step up, then brought the drums back in for the rideout. There are amplitube amps on all of my electric tracks, the marshall stack on the left, with echo and overdrive, and the twin reverb amp on the right with reverb, The drums were boosted with IK multimedia Classic EQ to give them beef and gain changes were done on all tracks to add heft to the waveform. All tracks have an EQ boost on them, and all acoustic guitars are eq'ed with reverb. The final master was done with Ozone 5. Enjoy and keep up the great work everyone!!! There is some awesome stuff on this site!!

Nice tune. I thought you did a great job on the lyrics for this. I like the mix and arrangement. My only nit on the mix is at 0:13 into the song a guitar part just comes in from out of the blue which seemed a bit out of place.
I enjoyed my listen and look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Nice stuff David!! Don't think I've heard you before. Really like the energy on this one. You have some good history in Raleigh. James Taylor is one of the all time greats. Enjoyed the tune! Take care. Greg

Sounds like you have hugely more patience in productions than we do. That reads like a lot of work...but perhaps it is routine to you. The production presents a nice balanced soundscape on my monitors and you sing it like you meant it. I don't know much about beds or canvases in this context but it worked out well for you! Kudos!

Thanks Janice and Bud! One quick note about production, as my buddy HERB HARTLEY can tell you, it may take some time to set yourself up but then you are golden. The magic word is PRESETS. For example, say you use Amplitube. I think I spent 200 bucks or less on two sets, the Jimi Hendrix Collection and the Fender Amps, Racks and Pedals Collection and I have a virtual warehouse full of lush cabinets, amp mics of every variety, vintage amps, a bazillion old school pedals and such to apply to any RealTrack. It's mind boggling. I have one preset called "Keith Urban" for example that mimics his pedalboard and so when I either record a track or use a real track I want to sound like Keith Urban I press a button, and presto I get Keith Urban. Unless you have taken it for a spin, you have no idea what a tube rack or other effects in Amplitube can do to completely take a so-so guitar track and make it light up like a Roman torch. I also have presets for Vocal EQing, drum EQing and so forth, so once I get the tracks, I just go into edit VST in Real Band and select one preset like "Twin Reverb_Full Pedals_Right Channel" and I am ready to export. I also just got Ozone 6 and it is really compatible with the output monitors on Real band to get real time effects on the preproduction mix for some tube and analogue sounds (adding warmth), but I still use Ozone 5 for the final master, just because it is easier and has some great radio/genre presets. (Ozone 6 does not seem to have them as far as I can tell, so I use both programs.) Bottom line, building presets take some time at first but the pay off in the end is HUGE. Thanks again. I am enjoying all the wonderful music here!!

David,
Very nice, guitar centric "Eagles" sound to this song. Enjoy hearing you sing as you put such energy and conviction into your singing.
Thanks for taking the time to mention your use of presets to save time.

Hi David. I like driving songs and your great backing sound has me thinking about amplitube which I've had for ages but hardly ever bother using. Cheers.

Thanks Journeyman! Yes, break out Amplitube and make it your best friend.
Here is a phenomenal aspect. You can use the Amplitube stand alone to get the exact sound you want to record and play with that sound--amp, cabinets, pedals, and racks, don't forget the racks--right into Real Band--I mean you can use the Amplitube standalone player and RealBand simultaneously. That is important to get the feel of the part as you are playing. BUT, it won't record those effects, it will record it dry, which is good, because you may change your mind. Anyway, when you are done, select edit VST on that channel in Real Band and select the same amp and pedal configuration and it WILL Play that same sound. Or any other you choose. Save the preset setting as say Journeyman Guitar Scorcher1 or something and yiy are set for life. I save presets for the Amplitube standalone and matching presets in RB. Saves thousand of hours of time.
