This topic brought over from the Mac version forum. I have BIAB 11 loaded on an ASUS laptop and was having a large latency problem. Bought an M-Audio M-Track but couldn't seem to make it work properly. Jim Fogel e-mailed me some info on the M-Track and after d/l the user's manual and following the instructions to the letter, I no longer have a latency problem. HOORAY. Now, I can forget about buying the Mac version of BAIB. Instead I will wait until the new version of Windows BAIB, probably 2016, comes out in December and I will go that route. That way, I can have the latest and greatest, since the Mac version doesn't seem to be in the same league as the Windows version. Don't be mad with me Apple folks. All indications are that that is true. Anyway, I am now ready to start creating backing tracks and seeing if I can learn to play the guitar. Thanks for your help Jim.

Phestus,

BIAB for Mac is indeed limited when compared, version for version, with BIAB for Windows. This is known, and not something for which to apologize.

If you are just starting to play guitar, I recommend lessons with an instructor, at least for a while. They will help you form good habits and avoid poor technique, which will pay off immensely in the long run.

No matter what your skill level, BIAB is available full time to accompany you. As a novice it will help you develop timing and a musical ear. With more experience it can help learn advanced techniques, including composition, improvisation, and even serve as an accompanist for live performance.

I began to seriously use BIAB in 2005, after playing guitar for 40 years. I made more progress on electric guitar in six months than I ever had previously. It is really that good.

Have a great time!

Richard

Good to hear. Settings and proper drivers are so, so very important.
