This is the revised version of "Crystal Universe" which was my latest post. Pat Marr kindly let me know that some passages of the song resemble those of the famous Christmas carol "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear". I checked if that is true or not and knew it is true. It was a big shock to me because I did not know the song and every inch of the melody was just from my brain. I also know now the song is in my music library and I had listened to it at least once. The only thing I could do was to rewrite the part of the song to avoid misunderstanding. Here is the outcome. https://soundcloud.com/hirokata1121/crystal-universe-revisedPlease let me apologize to those who listened to the song, especially those who gave me their commens for the confusion I had brought in. Lastly I would like to thank Pat again for his precious comment. Hiroshi

Hiroshi,
I absolutely LOVE your song! And it makes me happy for your sake that now nobody can subtract any value from it by comparing it to another song!
What you have accomplished here is masterful in every way, and it deserves to be regarded as the highly original song that it is!
For whatever it's worth, the phenomenon of incorporating passages we've heard in other songs is very very common and easy to do! Especially given the fact that you aren't Christian and didn't listen to all of the Christmas carols every year, you certainly wouldn't have memorized the source. It is a testimony to your musical memory that you retained a passage that you may have heard only once! I am very impressed!
I like your new melody even better than the other one! Thank you for your gracious reply to my original post! It is always refreshing to me when two minds communicate and agree!
Thanks for taking time to craft and share such an amazingly creative composition with the forum!

Thanks for taking time to craft and share such an amazingly creative composition with the forum! Pat, Thank you very much for your kind message. I cannot express how grateful I am for your pointing out the resemblance between two songs. Without it, there would be no way for me to know it, and it would bring me the terrible situation where many of the listeners of my song would frowns while listening to my song and I would never dream of that. It also gave me the chance to rewrite the song. When I recall the process to create the melody and also consider the fact I had listened the carol only once according to the play count by iTunes, now I think it more reasonable to interpret the cause as the most natural and beautiful passages for me accidentally resemble those of the Christmas carol rather than to interpret as I used the passages of the carol unconciously. I am glad that you like the revised version. After I completed the original version I listened to it so many times. I thought, therefore, the revised version was not as good as the original initially. As I listened to it repeatedlly, however, I now think it is better. Thank you again for your kindness, Hiroshi

Hello Hiroshi.
Great sound in this music. It remember me some music by Rondò Veneziano, an Italian group since the end of '70s. May be you know them.
Pleasant listent.

Hello Sergio, Thank you for your comment. I myself like the sound especially of the arpeggio by strings, too. No, I did not know Rondo Veneziano. I have found their albums in Apple Music, added them to My Music and am listening to their songs. I also read Wikipedia and knew about them. They are very good. I like them very much. It also reminds me of what Pat Marr wanted to see (or hear), that is 'Renaissance of new classical composition". Hiroshi

Very pretty Hiroshi!! I too have been in the situation where I accidentally borrow a musical phrase or lyric. There are only 12 notes, and some don't work together well, so it's easy to duplicate something, by chance or because you just don't realize. Nice job with this!! Take care. Greg

I like this version too.
I am not sure you have to worry about alluding to a Christmas Carol.
Mozart ripped off Beethoven. With impunity. Without a second thought. Beethoven ripped off folk songs.
You're a world famous composer and you rip off your ancestors. It's what you do.
You have low priced auto insurance and your call yourself Geico. It's what you do.

Greg Hi Greg, Thank you for your kind comment. I am really glad you like this revised version as well. I am also encouraged by it very much. Yes, there are only 12 notes and its combination to be musical is very limited. There were enormous number of musical pieces created over centuries and continentals. No matter what original songs, they might not be free from being partially resemble some songs created earlier. Yet, I want to create the musical works that the listeners recognize they are my original. This is why I made this version. Thank you again, Hiroshi

I am also encouraged so much by it. You might think I am too nervous, but I do not want my song to be something the listeners are concerned about its resemblance to other songs. Even though they do not doubt its originality, their attention might be distracted from the song itself. Hiroshi

Hello, Hiroshi
Very beautiful classical tune. I agree with Greg. Similarity! I also have sometimes experienced the same problem. I am always careful of similarity but I decide not to worry about it so serious. Enjoyable Listen.
Best Regards.
