Is it possible to import a audio file with ACW and paste it as an intro to a BIAB song? I am having no luck doing this. Using BIAB 2016.

Even without knowing exactly what you mean, the answer is yes. There are different approaches to accomplish the task.
Welcome to the forum.
If you just need a few bars for an intro, you can use a program to cut away the part you want to use for the intro from the rest of the audio file and just process that through the ACW. Or, you can alternately import the entire audio file, chord progression and tempo map and then erase all that you don't need for your intro. If you only need the chords and Key, you may not need to use the ACW at all.
If you want to have the audio remain as part of your file, there are processes that allow you to either include the audio or delete it from your project.
Maybe you can provide some more information on the specifics of what you are looking for in your intro and we'll try to get you there.

How does that work? Thanks
UPDATE: Are you saying I can extract just the chords without the audio?

Its from an old tape. It's recorded as a wave file on my computer and has been cleaned up to 4 bars length with Audacity. Imported with ACW, set bar 1 and sent to BIAB. Somehow I have this working now but dont remember how.
Played this song in a band many years ago. I have the song written with BIAB. I am just trying to use the original lead guitar sound for the intro and break in the middle.
Thanks for your quick response. I have had BIAB for some years but am now trying to learn to use it's in many features.

Thanks for your quick response. I have had BIAB for some years but am now trying to learn to use it's in many features. Your best bet would be to do this in a DAW like Realband, Sonar, Cubase etc. Bring your BiaB file into the DAW. If using anything other then Realband the bring in the BiaB song as either wav or aiff (that depends on whether you have a Mac or PC) or as MIDI. If you are going to have the BiaB file playing during the intro then bring the file in at measure 1, if not then measure 5. Bring in your audio 4 bar intro via cut and paste. Do the same for the break. Note you probably would want to bring in the entire audio file and cut and paste from it. Either mute the sections you do not want to play or delete them. BiaB is not a DAW thus not very versatile in doing what you want done here. A DAW is the answer IMHO. YMMV I hope this helps.
You know you're getting old when a recliner and a heating pad is your idea of a hot date!

Personally I agree with Mario. If you are to the slicing/dicing part of the project use a DAW.
You likely already have Realband, so you could start with your existing BiaB file and have way more flexibility and tracks to work with.
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

+1 agreement with Mario and Rharv. I would be going down the RealBand route for basics and probably then transfer to DAW (I use Reaper) which gives higher degree of flexibility for moving one track in relation to another.

I'm in almost complete agreement with Mario, Rharv and Kev T and only differ to a degree because I do some of the basics in BIAB before moving onto RealBand or another DAW. That's just the workflow I've developed. Good luck with your project. Charlie

Charlie: "if you only need the chords and Key, you may not need to use the ACW at all."
How does that work? Thanks
UPDATE: Are you saying I can extract just the chords without the audio?
DE I was referencing that he may be working with audio that he knows that information and would not benefit anything from the ACW. For instance, he knows the track was recorded in G at a tempo of 118 and he used a click track. I've had instances that I knew a track was recorded using a click but over time I've forgotten the key, chord progression and tempo. Normally when I open the audio in the ACW it displays the chords its calculated, estimated the tempo and determined the key. That usually jogs my memory enough that I do not find it necessary to import the audio from the ACW into BIAB. << Are you saying I can extract just the chords without the audio? >> Yes. Once you have selected to send the file to BIAB, in the window that pops up, you have the option to delete the audio at import leaving only the chord progression, tempo map and key. Charlie
