Hi, friends ! I must admit it is a long time I,ve been able to post anything ! To be completely honest with you I have, in fact, written 4-5 songs that I just have not been able to record acceptably. Either I have written too difficult tunes or then my capacities to perform them have been reduced ! Either way, this has been one of the bigger issues regarding my songwriting ! I could always resort to my bassvoice but then there could not be much of those nice harmonies that I love to sing. In any case this is just a try to do another surf tune. The style is: SURFSWP.STY and the instros are: bass 1844, piano 1549, drums = RD:s Surfpopswing, Guitar: 2427, Stringquartet 2452 and synthpad 1808 Here are the lyrics: SURFER´S BAY (Melody and words by Norman Wibe) It´s five in the morn´ and I am weary and worn, but I still just have to go a black eyed Joe devoted to surf not acceptin´ as an answer a ”no” weather is fine and the boards are aligned on the roof of my buggy car We´re ready to go, ready to travel away , travel so far We´re goin´ away to a secret place to Surfer´s Bay leaving no trace Break of dawn will find us flown to the best and favourite shore there we´ll surf the tidal waves rollin´higher more and more nothing else can give such kicks as flyin´on the waves we´ll remeber all these rides until layin´ in our graves in our graves So, please, come along ! to Surfer´s Bay a place for a song a place for to stay There you´ll surely gonna find that surfing gives you peace of mind Surfer´s Bay will help you leave all your troubles far behind Break of dawn will find us flown to the best and favourite shore there we´ll surf the tidal waves rollin´higher more and more nothing else can give such kicks as flyin´on the waves we´ll remeber all these rides until layin´ in our graves in our graves Cheers Dani

I would swear you grew up in Southern California and your cousins were the Wilson boys. Well done Dani loved this tune. Guitar was an excellent addition to the song

The Beach Boys has been my
favourite West Coast vocal band
since youthood - as I´ve always loved
sweet and nice chord progressions
and especially having them so
beautifully sung ! Brian
is a genius and I can reveal that
I will get to hear him and band
over at Pori Jazz incoming summer -
Guess if I´m looking forward to
that !!!!

have minded growing up in California
with the Wilson brothers as my cousins
(chuckle) ! Maybe I could have avoided
those darker times in their history, though ?
In any case, Brian is coming over to
Pori Jazz up here in Finland and thus I will
get a chance to hear this legend - my favourite
composer !

Dani, this is surely your best surfer song yet. It's very authentic to the genre and the guitar being included helps the vibe a lot. This is outstanding.
