Beautiful Kenny, Nice job on the arrangement. The cello works so well with those piano tracks. Wonderful write and a spectacular vocal. When you went for that high note it was gripping. The raspy tone of your vocals sure hits a sweet spot. Very well done. You're on a roll! Don't mess with the muse. Keep em coming. Tom

Your vocal recording on this is "the best ever" - really capturing the power in your vocal (I'd say keep doing whatever you did here...) Great listen. fj

Hi Kenny.
This is simply superb.
I had to listen to it again just to hear you sing the line "No one’s promised tomorrow". It sent a shiver down my back.
All the way through I was wondering if you were going to throw in the full orchestration on the last verse, a bit like in Bridge Over Troubled Waters and I'm so glad you didn't. It really works so well with just the piano and voice, anything else would have spoilt it.
This is an inspired write and seriously chart material. The best yet in my view.
Cheers, ROG.

Hi Kenny
The word that initially comes to mind is "Wow!" and then on second listen we could think of nothing better to say. ""Wow" covers it pretty good for us.
Your falsetto is superb. That bit of edge in your voice is the perfect compliment to the great music and lyric.
The simplicity of the music says more than a full orchestra could ever have conveyed. To say this simply gorgeous is a slight to its excellence. This is, without a doubt, our favorite song from you one of our favorites on the board at this time. Standing "O"!

Peter Kenny, This and all the other accolades are absolutely right. I`ll just add that your vocal has a one-take live feel that really knocks this out of the park. One of your best. Robert

Very pure and emotive vocal. The instrumentation you chose was perfect too, just right to compliment the vocal and not take away from it.

Janice and I have over the years talked about how irrespective of genre we are drawn toward husky vocal timbres. Perhaps we like Americana so much as it tends to showcase such vocals. And now we have continuing great examples of it right here on the forum So obviously we loved the vocal. And, man, the write is stellar. As janice said "beautiful and soulful." And an uplifting positive lyric (the kind I wish I could write). The piano and cello tracks were made for the song and are perfectly mixed for the vocal. A fine addition to a fine catalog. J&B
Our albums and singles are on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Pandora and more. If interested search on Janice Merritt. Thanks! Our Videos

I agree with everything they said. To me, the vocal (and song somewhat) had a Sting quality which, to me, is awesome. This is so beautifully done!! About the best compliment I can give is that after listening, I didn't want to listen to anything else for a half hour or so. Just wanted to let the sweet sound resonate in my mind, like leaving the sweet taste of dessert in your mouth after a fine meal. Truly BEAUTIFUL Kenny!!! One of my faves of so many great songs you've written! Take care. Greg
