Hi all. Been stuck on writing waltz's lately.
This one is about the loneliness of old age and the only comfort is late night TV.
Hope you like it. All comments welcome. Rob

Its four in the morning Im watching tv.
Reruns of Elvis and things I dont need.
I never did wondered how lonesome I'd be.
Im wishing you where here with me.

Im eating leftovers the lights are down dim.
The sofas kinda comfy the cat wonders in.
I beg the almighty your safe where you been.
Im wishing you where here with me.

Send a donation and we'll save your sole.
Insurance a thing, you need dont you know.
No lock in contract you'l be free to go.
Never so easy to be.
Im wishing you where here with me.

Bridge

Send a donation and we'll save your sole.
Insurance a thing, you need dont you know.
No lock in contract you'l be free to go.
Never so easy to be.
Im wishing you where here with me.

Im schedualed for surgery I need a by pass.
My heart near most faling, I hope I will last.
But if I dont see you, I'll raise you a glass
Im wishing you where here with me.

Its four in the morning Im watching tv.
Reruns of Elvis and things I dont need.
I never did wondered how lonesome I'd be.
Im wishing you where here with me.

Oh my,Rob I hope it never gets to that for me or my wife!!
Great waltz and thoughtful lyrics.Excellent.
Happy Christmas
Ian
PS - we did a silly check on our commercial TV adverts the other night. Being Christmas time the channels are awash with Charity adverts asking for "Donations". In one hour of Prime Time the 9 different Charities we saw added up to a staggering £37 and some of those wanted you to sign up to a monthly donation. Pity the poor old folk who get emotional about it all and give away their meagre pensions.

I truly loved this. A thin line between humor and melancholy. A hard thing to achieve. Really enjoyable. Loved the video too. Wonderful job Rob!

Rob, A good write. Well sung and produced. Good mix. Getting old sucks and you did a good job of relaying that sentiment. Very nicely done in all regards, Tom

Very well done! You nailed late night tv for sure (not that I have ever stayed up to see it). grin

The arrangement is very well worked out. (Isn't BiaB great for helping in that matter?) The vocal is well done and the piece is fun to listen to.

Thank you for sharing.

BRILLIANT song Rob. Remember watching late night TV when we first got satellite signals here in the UK, and you've certainly got the song spot on. Definately a song that needs to be recorded by some of the major artists

Rob,
A great subject for a song- really good lyrics, very well sung and arranged.
Apart from that shot of the leftovers, I enjoyed the video too!
