Another well known Mac product is +++ Paintbrush +++.

The Windows keyboard has a PrntScr (print screen) button that takes a snapshot of the computer screen when depressed. The snapshot is automatically stored in the clipboard which acts as temporary memory storage. Then you open up your image editor program and press Ctrl + V to paste the clipboard content into the editor. You can modify the pasted image using the image editor tools.
