Did I hear you sneak in a nice diminished chord somewhere? Gave it an unexpected interesting twist.

I'm a big fan of using diminished chords, where appropriate, to add a little character to the song. Another chord I use when I can is the minor 11th. I use it primarily where a 1-2m-5 progression would be common. I simply use the m11 to replace the 2m and 5 chords. the minor 11th is so similar to a 5 chord that it's a perfect melding of the two. probably way more than you wanted to know. Thanks again. Alan

P.S. I love this title! Noel, I'm always at a loss when I reply to your wonderful reviews of my music. You make an old heart (and body) feel great! I truly cannot explain why this genre comes so naturally for me as I never played it professionally - around the house quite a bit, though. I've always been a h8uge fan of folks like Brook Benton, Dizzy Gillespe, Lou Ralls, Lionel Hampton, Henry Mancini and the old Tommy Dorsey & Glen Miller music. Somehow, the chords just fall in place.
